Saki's self sabotage is a bit extreme.
the last two chapters have generally felt a bit extreme to me, or is it just me who thinks that Saki is completely exaggerating way too much?

Not just you. I would have been annoyed if this was a fake-out to fall back on the "your love is different than mine," shtick. There are always narrative reasons to explain why Saki would be this avoidant. However, after a certain point, when so many series similarly develop their characters, I still feel a bit annoyed to end up in the same place again and again. Instead, we used that moment to reject those ideas. Turned into something novel, and I ended up very happy with it.

Kanon is exceedingly useful for someone who just realized they were a lesbian one day ago.

And I love that hug, it's like a mirror to a few chapters ago when Saki was hugging her from behind.

We see it so often because it's a common reaction, especially in repressed societies and ones that have far more communal activities. Re-litigating every time you've spent time with other girls and constantly second-guessing your own actions and thoughts, all while basting in teenage hormones? No wonder she's a ball of neuroses.

It's not the psychology that's the issue; it's the way the narrative is constructed. There are many series outside of manga that deal with similar issues but in more varied ways. It's not anything to discuss anyway because the author did understand the typical framing and avoided the issue by using it as a setup for something else. I appreciate her decision there. So, I wouldn't want to take up too much comment space discussing something that didn't happen. It was a good chapter. Can't wait for the next.

I'll have to read it again once the chapter becomes free, but as far as us, the readers and Saki knows, Kanon is only in love with Saki. Her sexuality and her own insight into it is still ambiguous.

While Saki has known she was gay pretty much her whole life. That's part of the difference. Also, Saki just wants Kanon sooooooo bad lol.

We know logically that it doesn't matter, but gay angst is real. I'm not saying this is the case with Saki, but the stereotype that lesbians don't like dating bi women exists for a reason.

Holy heck Kanon handled Saki so well, and the scene with Saki realizing Kanon cant hear her on purpose, it really brings into perspective how much they know eachother. Im really looking forward to where things go from here. Definitely one of my most favorite yuri confessions out there.
