Snipes the series, forces the other team to rush their release, then proceeds to take shots at them over a few mistakes on an extra page... Sure.

Did you ever offer to help them before sniping?
If they truly care about the quality of their work and genuinely love the series, they would take their time to translate it properly without worrying about someone else releasing it faster. However, if their main concern is the fame or money they gain from translating the series, they would be more likely to rush their releases.

I didn’t release chapters 54 and 55 at the same time because I care about the quality of my work. Like I said, I don’t care if no one reads it; I’m translating this series because I genuinely like it.

That's great, but your personal approach doesn't prove everyone else's motivations.

You're presenting it as if there are only two possibilities: either they ignore the snipe because they care about quality, or they rush because they care about fame or money. That's a false dichotomy.

A snipe naturally puts pressure on the team that was already working on the series. That's just how the scanlation scene works, whether we like it or not. They've also been working on this series for almost three years.

My point was never that they had to rush. It's that you created that pressure and then criticized them for mistakes that may have resulted from it.

Also, since you didn't answer my question, I'll take that as a no. You didn't talk to them before sniping.

Dude, just find another series not actively being translated. Otherwise you're just being a dick tbh

@KyunTranslations you know 束野 is also a name, yeah?
束野 (the line is lower)
東野 (the line is higher)

Based on the panel, it is most likely 東野 since the line height almost matches. Also, 東野 is a much more common family name in Japan. Unless 束野 appears before Chapter 55, I’m confident that 東野 is the correct kanji.

You can also try comparing them in Google Docs. I’ve studied Japanese for 4 years, and I’m about 80% sure that my interpretation is correct, if Im wrong then ok.

Also, if you love the series so much and care so much about quality, why didn't you start from chapter 1? I always ask snipers that, but they never seem to answer.
It's because starting from chapter 1 would be a waste of time. I only decided to translate this series because their releases are extremely slow, and I feel like they're just delaying it. Translating two chapters shouldn't take that long; two days is probably the maximum it should take.

And if you're going to say, "But you said starting from chapter 1 would be a waste, so why are you translating it now while someone else is doing it?" The reason is that their release pace is so slow that it would be better for me to translate the newer chapters and provide them to you guys instead.

You said you don't care if no one reads it, but now you're framing your snipe as a service to "provide" chapters to readers. Which is it?

If you truly didn't care about readers, you'd just translate it for yourself and keep it private. You're not doing this for love of the series. You said translating 53 chapters would be "a waste of time." That doesn't sound like love. That sounds like you only care about the newest chapters that get attention.

You keep framing yourself as the hero, but everything you've said just confirms you wanted to be first, not helpful. You want to be the one readers praise for being faster and better. That's not love. That's ego.

I think you got the lower/higher mixed up but damn yeah I think you're right, fair enough
Also, please fix those mistakes. I want you guys to improve your quality as well. If I’m being honest, you guys shouldn’t stick too closely to the Japanese meaning because we’re trying to adapt it for English speakers while keeping the original meaning and main points intact. It shouldn’t be a direct translation.

Sorry, I’ll rephrase it better. What I meant was that it would be a waste if I translated it and didn’t upload it.

Also, when I said “I don’t care if no one reads it,” I meant more like “I don’t care if people dislike me for translating the series.” I’m not doing this for praise or attention. I’m just saying that even if some people don’t support my translation, I’ll still continue because I enjoy the series.

Thanks for the translations! I appreciate getting to read them so quickly.
