Kinda the opposite for me. Immediately gut feeling that "Oh, that's definitely the ex" but then when she said she was meeting her son I was "Oh. Ok, nevermind, it's his mom I guess". Nope. Shoulda stuck with my first gut feeling.

He needs to confront his issues at some point and this could be a good or bad thing. The whole reason he has low self worth is because of the situation that occurred with her (doesn't matter whose fault it was). It seems she moved on and built a life where she is married and has at least a son, while our he seems to have stalled.

Interested to see where this goes, but given her reaction...uh oh.

Yup, like literally the first panel she appears. There was no way that a character gets a face and screen time and turns out not important...so there was only one possibility.

Wasn't it because someone was jealous and sabotaged him at work and he worked super hard to correct it, but neglected his fiancee so she broke up with him? I'm pretty sure it was "he worked too hard and neglected his fiancee."
