The narration explaining Tempest's fatal(??) flaw reminds me a LOT of of the narration in Hunter X Hunter when Gon and party attack the Chimera Ants.

This chapter also has a lot of flashbacks to things from the OG series. Unfortunately, I could not find where Brass explained he found Dai in a little boat and called him Dai because of the D on the placcard. I looked. I skimmed through the first 10 or so chapters, then the Baran arc, then the next time Baran appeared right before the first assault on the continent of death, and Larhart's story time with Hyunckel... I couldn't find it. If anyone knows the OG chapter, let me know!

And at the rate we're going we should be caught up to current by this time next month!! Super exciting!

Yeah... Avan's in for a real rough road ahead... A sneak peak of chapter 61... Things definitely gonna get worse before they get better our hero.

Poor Avan. To think he'd still be stuck if Hihi hadn't gotten butthurt. Well, Hihi will serve as a good beatstick for now. Despite being a bow. Can't wait for the real Bow Strash soon.

Honestly, thinking about it, that she can not-Frozen Time like that just like that is OP as fuck considering how much struggle and sacrifice Frozen Time was to obtain and then cast for our heroes. Or even Vearn, really.

It's coming... it's definitely coming...

And I think that also goes to show just how threatening and powerful these rogue weapons are. And more than just the spell... it's things within the path of the swing of her sword - she doesn't actually have to touch someone to cast a spell on them (at least as far as I understand it).

I mean we've seen how Beruk weapons are extremely powerful in the OG series, too, with Hyunckel, Larhart, and Dai's sword. And each one of them has their own OP special move. Hihi can mount multiple arrows for a multi-shot with infinite arrows available to him... Fooga can stick himself in literall thin air and have leverage... we'll eventually see what Raize can do, as well. They're all OP in their own ways.

It's moments like these where you can feel the age of the original manga, just out between III and IV and by the time it ended VII was not out yet. There was just so little to draw upon, relatively speaking.

And yet... Truly, Lon Beruk was just too goated for this world. You could straight-up make an entire series about this whole stuff of his weapons if you so wanted from how good all his concepts are.

I have a feeling all of these rogue weapons will be retrieved, and forged into Hyunkel's Magic Armor Sword. It carries a lot of similar features, like the whip, the shed becoming armor in his case/a scorpion in the great sword's case etc
