The production process has ceased to be a labour process in the sense of a process dominated by labour as its governing unity. Labour appears, rather, merely as a conscious organ, scattered among the individual living workers at numerous points of the mechanical system; subsumed under the total process of the machinery itself, as itself only a link of the system, whose unity exists not in the living workers, but rather in the living (active) machinery, which confronts his individual, insignificant doings as a mighty organism. In machinery, objectified labour confronts living labour within the labour process itself as the power which rules it; a power which, as the appropriation of living labour, is the form of capital.

Ah, yes, hourly drudge. A thing I do not miss at all, having ascended to salaried drudge.

Thanks for the chapter!
Ah, yeah. Life goes from working an 8 hour shift - "My shift has to almost be over. It's only been 2 hours?!" to I need to finish this project today - "I'm about half done; I've been working on this for what, a couple hours? It's already been 6 hours?!"

It can, but I work in an industry whose deadlines are measured months out and rarely have to scramble anything on short notice, and have also managed to get myself into a position where not even my boss is entirely sure what exactly I do (which helps to keep the workload on the lighter side). :pepela:

I wondered if the sweet blush on her cheeks was just this adorable shine she was born with, but it's really a reflection of her child-like purity and untrammeled joy. Tragic seeing it sucked away.
