What the author is doing here is technically lampshading. They're having the doctor spell out just how wrecked her body is, basically waving a flag and saying, "Yeah, we know this is insane, just roll with it." But honestly, it feels less like a clever wink and more like CYA writing. The author wants the cool factor of a superhuman assassin shrugging off lethal injuries like they're nothing, while also wanting the fake credibility of a medical scene that pretends to care about realism.
You can't really have both. Either she's superhuman, or she's not. Don't give me a whole doctor monologue and expect me to go, "Oh, okay, that makes total sense now." It doesn't. It doesn't actually fix the problem, it just draws a giant arrow pointing at it and hopes we won't notice. It feels... disingenuous.
Thanks for the chapter!
