I do love the story and the art, but my god this arc is absolutely dragging on. We still have this fight, the coronation itself, the conflict that'll probably happen after the coronation, and then the wrap up for the entire arc. Which is rough when it's a monthly release. I'm wondering if this is the longest arc in the story so far, or if there has been a longer one? It feels like it is, unsure.

It is. The arcs so far have been:

1. Introduction Arc (chapters 1 - 8)
2. Garandoa Arc (chapters 9 - 13)
3. Nereid Arc (chapters 14 - 21)
4. Yashimano Arc (chapters 22 - 29)
5. Academy Arc (chapters 30 - 48)
6. Sinchar Arc (chapters 49 - 71)
7. Doris Valor Arc (chapters 72 - 79)
8. Huang Lia Arc (chapters 80 - ...)

At 29 chapters and counting, this arc is already longer than Sinchar's (23) and the Academy (19).

While I understand that Chinese history in the turning of the 19th-20th century is fascinating, and that Pseudo-Chinese court settings are all the rage nowadays, I feel that this arc has dragged on for too long.

I just hope it ends with him getting a new form/element and fighting some beast, like literally every single arc in the manga when he goes to a new country. It'd be kind of lame to break the eternal formula now, especially after such a long arc of yapping.

The only real candidate to possess the nectar for MC to use is that one queen he is allied with, and it would make sense, as in chapter 98 we got a full flash-back chapter for her. It'd also be a cool mix-up though if it were the evil necromancer lady with the brother's head, she is surprisingly cute and likeable actually. The only problem is MC never even met her lol

Also I know Sakura is apparently an exorcist who fights with talismen or whatever now apparently, but it's pretty funny how the last page looks like she's about go throw down with the monster physically using her hands lol

Sadly as great as that would be, she isn't some kind of royalty, which seems to be the criteria for possessing the nectar. She is just an army general mirroring the main one that loves MC
