Pretty sure this arc is Chita facing her fears of change/growing up, which is what's keeping her from being happy for her friends and from moving forward with Tokio. This chapter is her making excuses for not saying yes to Tokio rather than an unequivocal "not interested".

anyway, I actually didn't hate this chapter. we got more honesty from chita, and im actually interested in what happens next as we seem close to a breaking (through?) point, finally.

tbh I think Chita's just annoyed at herself. For all her talk of leaving other people behind she's clinging to the past while having to accept that she's the only one doing so, with the others all moving on to the next stage of their lives where (romantic) relationships get more important.

That said out of the three girls I do find her the least interesting. She puts me in mind of girls who make being quirky their entire identity and end up coming off as forced and unappealing as a result.

Ngl, she is justified in being annoyed with Tokio when she has expressed that she doesn't understand this type of thing and he keeps pushing it, even if I understand Tokio needing a clean break from her since he's been crushing on her for so long. I think they'd be a bad couple, so I hope they don't get together but that they can at least move forward with Chita just being ok with being asexual or something

Yeah having someone who you thought were a close friend of yours coming out and say they love yo isn't fun at all if you don't love them that way back.

Had that happen to me, and my friend somehow refused to accept I wasn't gay for him and just kept on trying to force us in to a relationship lol.. yeah that long friendship ended quite badly lol. So I do get her feelings in that way..

but saying her friends abandoned her for getting into relationship n shit.. nah fuck that.

I think I'm assuming Tokio is just getting it out of the way even though he knows the answer because of her main worry. Which is that she'll be left behind. If he confesses and she says no and then says "then we're still best friends" that's more a direct attack at her view that now they have to grow apart. Her avoiding it doesn't help either of them and if she actually wants to be friends with him still then she needs to hash it out instead of pushing it off when it makes her feel bad. She is childish and she knows that and the answer to it is unfortunately you kinda just have to lock in. Which....that's where we are now.
