First of all, I just want to point out, when Mirei asked about the photos she gave to Soprano, when went from not seeing her face, to that pause, to her finally answering. Couple that with her intense reaction to when she first saw Mirei’s album and the way she looks at that one torn up photo that she later covered up. All that tells me that Soprano probably destroyed/threw out the photos. It’s not so surprising given how horrible that rejection was, and how negatively Soprano views her younger self. She should still own up to it though. I say much the same thing about Mirei’s actions as well. They both need to understand how their actions have and will continue to hurt themselves, each other and the other people around them, and they have a responsibility to learn from their mistakes and be better.
Now with that out of the way, when I skimmed through past chapters to see if there were any other hints about the photos Soprano had, I came across this line: “I wouldn’t mind if you destroyed me, Mirei-chan.” At the time, I only thought about the line as another expression of Soprano’s fixation on Mirei. Now looking at that ominous panel of Dark Mirei, I’m wondering if it was actually foreshadowing. Maybe the true yandere was secretly Mirei all along.
