That was the most nothing burger of a later half of a series i've ever read. Seriously. Did it get axed and the author had like 20 chapters left? or did he just run out of ideas after establishing the badass evil group with the BADASS old samurai lady. Fuck man. Ima just read the first chapter again and leave it at that. Everything else was a dream.
As I've posted a few times the series kept going for too long to have been axed dozen of chapters ago, people did accuse of that for like over 30 chapters after all lol
Though I also did change my mind and made another post in which I belive this isn't actually the author fault but rather editor or such, why? Because if you go reread from the beginig you'll notice halfway the story has a clear shift in style
What most likely happened is that editor or some higher-up told mangaka to retool the story into a more obviously shounen style, that would explain the poor pacing, joining Cattleya organization, the bigger focus on fights, I feel they gave it some attempt and only recently they officially cancelled it cause the retool was a bust
Thinking back on it the story was clearly originally gonna be more chill and focus on Kagura and Raito adventures, not to defend poor decisions but it does make me wonder if numbers were poor and the retool was attempt to salvage the manga or just poor decisions probably forced by editor / higher-ups, my money is on the later option with how the story kept going for so long
Our only hope is that maybe mangaka decides to continue as doujins or something but unfortunately I'm not sure they're allowed without permission from the publisher since I think they own the series, someone correct me on that lol
Anyway, in the end we got robbed of a series that probably would have been way better for focusing on Kagura and Raito adventures / relationship that would end in mating press
