Yes, most ruining situationCheck my comment in the last chapter for my rant on that lesbian asshat
Don't get fooled by her yandereness, she doesn't actually even care about Tsubasa in the slighteset and it fully capable of abandoning her the moment she doesn't fit her own fetishes. Yes, she's fully a lesbian
So does she give up on her later on then?
Not until the very end where Tsubasa reveals her real personality and causes her to fly into a rage screaming about how that couldn’t be her personality, and then get mind broken and knocked out. We later see her and she doesn’t seem to care about Tsubasa anymore
Wrong. The easiest antagonist to write is a blonde, tanned bastard who tries cucks the protagonist, not some dumb yandere lesbian. When a story is written specifically for male readers to self-insert and enjoy an imaginary harem of high school girls, the easiest antagonist to write is a girl that likes girls instead of boys. It's homophobic and gross, but enough of the target audience is also homophobic and gross* that it still works.
*Not commentary on anyone here specifically, of course.
Tbf to the story itself, the light novel has longer scenes with a lot more context. We actually got Tsuchiya's pov for an interlude and how the situation and emotions were complicated for her. She does feel jealous, but she doesn't like that she's feeling that way about someone she legitimately trusts and sees as a friend. When a story is written specifically for male readers to self-insert and enjoy an imaginary harem of high school girls, the easiest antagonist to write is a girl that likes girls instead of boys.
