From what I understand, this is a manga original plotline, and that the WN and LN didn't do much with their altered personalities.

Well frankly, as far as I can remember considering I read this almost a decade ago. Either the novel glossed it over, or this twist is a manga original plot.
However, there's a kind of related development later with Norn in the novel version:
Which is that she actually deduces the truth of her former identity and even the fact that Keyaru turned back time and this is a new timeline. I can't rmb if she deduced it during this event, or after the war when he re-establishes the kingdom properly. I do rmb she decided she was happier being Ellen, so that is pretty much it.
Norn is actually not as...eh...evil, I suppose? As Flare. Actually she just wants to be acknowledged, and when a rift formed between her and Flare she felt like she was cut off. Or something like that. Most people have probably forgotten by now but by the start of the story, these two definitely did not get along. It's not surprising she decides to ditch "Norn" and remain "Ellen". And I doubt Ellen is going to be very sympathetic towards Flare if she finds out this way in the manga version.

Uhhh...Flare? Only you and Norn are brainwashed. None of the other girls that are with Keyaruga are brainwashed. They know what he's like.

Flare is about to have major correction, again.
Flare, you definitely won't win over all of them :
- Setsuna : She will never join her side. Keyaru never brainwash or use drug on her. Light gaslighting at best, she follow him on her own free will.
- Kureha : 50/50 for me. He started with her with drugs, lies and manipulation, so if made her learn all of that, she had a chance to defect, but she also saw that the kingdom she sworn and fought to protect was worst, and the Keyaru did change it for the better. She also from real close, Keyaru heroic deeds.
- Ellen/Norn : As Ellen, no chance, even with learning the truth, she can conclude they were happier brainwashed. As Norn, she would have beef with Keyaru, but also feel gratitude since when brainwashed she could finally be happy with her big sister.
- Demon lord Eve : he indeed manipulated her and gaslighted her at the start, but he also always stood by her side even in the toughest moments. Little chance she leaves his side. At best she leaves, she will never join Flare side instead.
- Guren : Even as young and Naive as she is, she knows her dad is not a good person, know how scary he can be, and knows Flare's side won't be the winning one. No chance she joins Flare.
So at best Flare, Norn and Kureha against everyone else minus Eve, and at worst, just Flare against everyone else.
Yep, Keyaru won't lose that one, you would have better chance decapitate him in his sleep after the usual night snusnu.

Keyaru needs to plap Flare right in front of Bullet to piss him off watching his boy toy get off from a woman. Then put Bullet into a wood chipper feet first so he can scream a lot on the way to hell.
