    VAs got married
It's always both funny and fascinating to me whenever there's a brand new manga that's just got translated here,
and the comments were like "ooh, I've been waiting for someone to translate this for sooo looong".

And I looked it up, the 1st chapter hadn't even been out for a month.
Like, who are you? You came from the future or something?

I mean, I could understand it if it came from like a well-known, veteran mangaka.
But these guys are fresh newcomers. Some of them didn't even have twitter accounts before.
Like... have you actually known them well all this time?

    Fascinating
    Picture this scenario
A: I want a sad romantic story about a man who questions the sincerity of his love when faced with money.
B: Okay, let's make it about a poor guy who falls in love with a terminally ill woman, and she has a large inheritance that she will leave to him when she dies.
A: Great. But that's not spicy enough. It's too logical. Let's make the woman suffer from an illness that turns her into gold. So, her inheritance is her golden corpse.
    B: what?
You guys like listening to audiobooks?

Just tried listening to an audiobook of a novel.
As someone with an inner monologue, I always read novels and manga with different voices in my head.
Voices that I find fitting for the characters I'm reading. (usually based on typical anime character voices)

So listening to the male narrator's raspy voice trying to soften his voice while reading the female character's dialogue made my skin crawl.
Hung out with friends, but I came late.
    The first conversation I heard:
"yeah, there are hentai (manga), sold to Western, so they are uncencored.
But the plot has a rather problematic portion, so they cut that part out. So, the hentai is now censored.
It is both censored and uncensored."
    I was like

These full 3D model manga that's been popping out every now and then are getting more and more freakier as they try to make it more detailed and realistic. Instead, they just look weirder.

I'm fine with a manga like this.
Might look uncanny to some, but I'm fine with it.
They still mix 3D models and digital hand drawn.
But this one is a bit too much even for me.

Reminds me of the GMod comics that used to be popular before 2010
Just finished reading a trainwreck of an ending of just another shonen action manga that I thought had great potential.

Out of pure curiosity, I opened the manga's comment section and saw the first comment was basically "great start, hoping for a good ending"
and I was like oh man, I'm so sorry for you. I don't know what to say, really.
Good thing the translation stopped, so you don't have to know, I guess.
    aaaaand it happened again,
story set in a fantasy feudal Japan,
everyone's still wearing kimonos and hakama and all that,
battles are still fought with swords and magic,
dead ass generic story, nothing extraordinary, but I still like it,
suits my taste, it's right up in my alley,
    7 volumes in,

and then suddenly they whip out a Barrett M82
    and I was like

I'm really curious about the "Fat Cat" bootleg Gunpla that's been getting a lot of good reviews lately.
I accidentally broke my Core Fighter v3 a few years ago, and I've been wanting a replacement for a while.
So, if this copycat is actually good and at a much lower price, I'm really interested.

Don't know if they ship to Japan, tho
So, I told my coworker that I wanted to see the new Naked Gun movie, but it wasn't coming out in Japan until September.
I really wanted to see it in a theater because I wanted to see if the joke would land with Japanese audiences.

My other coworker overheard us, she's Japanese, and she didn't know about that movie. And I was like: my point exactly.
I showed her the imdb, and she was like: "Oh, that's the guy from 96 Hours."

And that is the moment I learned that Taken is called 96 Hours in some countries.
(re)Reading this manga after putting it on hold for quite some time since it is now completed.
And that made me remember, a while back, someone said about wanting a romance manga that tells about breaking up, drifting apart, then getting back again. Or something like that.

I think this manga came quite close to those requirements.
If they don't mind yuri, that is.
Unfortunately, after hours of searching, still haven't found that original comment.
    "Not all isekai are isekai"

That's me after reading a manga with the word "isekai" in the title, tagged as "isekai", seems like an isekai.
But 3 volumes in, I don't think this is an isekai story at all (as in someone got transported)
It is just a story set in another world (lit. isekai)
So it is just a plain fantasy story.
    Wait wait wait,
So I'm not a movie buff. Haven't seen a movie for quite some time. But I heard about this whole Superman movie thing.
Again, haven't seen it, but I've heard about some of the plot.

So as I understand, Son Goku is a kind of parody of Superman, but Toriyama made Goku's backstory a little different, making his original intention to conquer Earth.
But now the new Superman movie is doing that?

    This shit came full circle.
