    We used to just have "TV anime," regardless of how many episodes or how long they ran.
    Then we limited the episodes to around 40-50 and called them seasons. Then we reduced that to 24 episodes per season.
    Then to around 13 episodes per season and call it ”cour”.
    Then we went back to "2 cour" anime seasons.
    Then "parts 1 and 2" anime seasons.
    Now we have "this anime season will be 5 cours."

    It's kinda both funny and cool to me that an axed manga from almost 2 decades ago, consistently at the top of the list of most-wanted anime adaptations for almost 10 years,
    is now finally getting an anime,

    uh... I haven't read it actually (I think I skimmed the first volume or so back when)
    but for so long everyone has been saying: rushed ending and axed

    I mean, it wasn't a full ending, but I didn't consider it rushed that much.
    Maybe the otherworld part, that one was ended in a flashback, but the story was pretty much properly over from what I can remember.

    A friend of mine told me that the manga Mii-chan and Yamada-san has recently been getting a lot of attention from Japanese readers,
    to the point that even people/youtube channels that never discuss manga at all are talking about it.

    It's a shame the translation is gone because this manga is still a bit difficult for me to read in Japanese.

    Recently, there was an announcement of an anime adaptation for a fairly new manga, and some people are wondering how they'll adapt it since the manga currently only has about 18 chapters.

    While I don't know if it will be a full-length anime or not, people sometimes forget that each manga has different number of pages in each chapter.
    That manga already has 2 volumes out, and it started in 2024.

    Some mangaka have decided to stylize their volume numbering using Roman numerals.
    I do wonder if they'll regret that decision when they get to volumes 28-38.

    Watching the live-action film adaptation of Yamada9999.
    (It's like a small effect after a little dive into the world of manga hiatus last week)

    I was a little surprised when I heard the anime characters' voices in the film.
    Turns out they also used anime VAs for the in-game characters.
    Kinda interesting to me.

    This manga reminds me of being a party pooper at last year's Halloween party, playing WWYD with my friends.
    The prompt was “zombie apocalypse”, and my answer was that I wanted to learn magic, because that scenario indicated that we had entered a fantasy world.

    Casually dipping my toes into the world of manga hiatuses, just for fun.
    I see there are many manga whose status will remain written as hiatus as long as the author is still alive.

    If I were to propose a new status for manga, it would be "limbo" status for manga that have passed like, I don't know, a one-year hiatus?

    I don't remember how old I was, maybe 11 or 12, but I remember seeing the back cover at a comic rental shop.

    The "super-good-looking-gal-who-is-only-nice-to-me-the-otaku" era had to end, seeing how it is also mentioned more often in mangas in an attempt to be funny. (like the Cheat-Skills in Isekai)
    Generally, these 4th wall jokes appearing in large numbers seem to show a decline in "trope" popularity, though just my faulty observation.

    It's quite boring, tbh.
    Like, it's "Oh, what if there was a girl like that" with each chapter just being slight alterations of the scenario.
    The Girl is also barely even a character.
