Just caught up on all the new series on MangaPlus from the past three months,
Dang, lots of good stuff!

Honestly, I was kinda worried about Jump these past few years,
since the previous batch almost all ended prematurely.

But hey, what do ya know? I guess they're not dead yet.
Here's hoping this doesn't age like milk.

was reading stuff about the new Bocchi movie on a random Japanese page.
There were some kanji that I couldn't quite read yet,
so I turned on auto-translate.

And Firefox decided to translate "Bocchi the Rock" as "Fuck you, fuck you!", and I can't stop laughing

I thought I got banned for being mistaken for a bot after submitting a bunch of reports to add the official English titles of some manga

to think that a manga marked as hentai, one that I can confidently agree that, yeah, it's a hentai,
feels way less horny, less hentai, and has more interesting story
compared to the multitude of other "non-hentai" manga that are just teetering on the edge, and just being teasing genre with no actual story

workplace discussion,
and someone I’d just met there was like "I’ve been dealing with this sort of thing for seven years; this will work."

Meanwhile, I was thinking, "I’ve been working in this field since 2012, that’s 14 years,
and I don't feel like this is going to work well. But sure."

Maybe I’ve just gotten too old to keep up with the changing times.

Call it comic, manga, picture book, or graphic novel.
Sure, call it whatever you want.

But when someone calls an audiobook 'graphic audio'
I'm like,

As I was preparing for this year's summer hike, I realized that I had apparently lost my 5 years' worth of Fuji climb souvenirs while I was moving.
Can't remember where I put them.

I felt so devastated.

Moving is done. House is clean. Project is completed. Business trips are over. The conference wrapped up, too.
Now I can read manga again.
Wonder how many pages of updates I've missed?

80 pages.

Yep, I'm never catching up.

My new place has many stray cats poking around, which makes me quite happy.

But then I noticed that many of them are sneezing a lot. So, that makes me concerned that this place is not as healthy as I originally thought.

"Mii-chan and Yamada-san" is getting an anime?

I haven't read it again since I made that post last year.
And it's ending too?
I need to catch it up.

Yuri manga How Do We Relationship is getting a TV drama adaptation, and I saw that the two lead are training on the guitar and bass for their roles.

I think that's really cool, especially since it's not even a music-focused story like K-ON! or Bocchi where the VAs underwent similar training.

Visiting my old uni, and I can't help but notice that the lecture slides I made as a TA when I was doing my PhD almost a decade ago are still being used today.
On one hand, I'm flattered that my slides are considered that good they keep using them.
On the other hand, has nothing been updated at all?
Man, those slides are pre-COVID.

Man, I need to stop wasting money on sketchy food and drinks just out of curiosity.
But Japan loves changing up packaging and dropping a new flavor quirk every few months,
leaving me intrigued by the new designs to try them,
making me question myself whether I've actually tried it before,

only to make me remember that it tasted like shit.

Months and months ago I filed reports, twice in fact, to tell MD that
hey this manga is not finished yet, don't mark it as completed, I have a copy of the manga, there's another volume is coming out next year.
Rejected.
Oh well, it's whatever, not the end of the world, nobody cares.
nobody else but me, maybe.

Now that the next volume has come out, and another one is scheduled for next year,
MD finally decided to change the status information,
So yeah, to whoever rejected my reports,
....
....
f*cking told you.

Almost had a heart attack while jogging this afternoon.
As I passed through a dark, quiet parking lot, I didn't notice a woman sitting inside the only parked car.
As I approached, a light from inside the car illuminated her from below, revealing a head obscured by long, wavy hair
(probably from a smartphone or something).

Fucking hell, old lady. I thought a Japanese yokai had finally appeared!

I know typhoons are a disaster, especially double ones.
But I won't lie, I kind of like this situation.
It's summer, but the air is still cool.
