Song of the Sky Pacers - Ch. 99

Enjoy, Golden blade justiciar: He's got a bit of a nickname now which translates to 'golden blade injustice guest/customer'. Together the whole thing can be taken as him seeking out injustice with a golden blade, with the golden blade signifying his strong sense of justice and courage. I think...

It should just be a powerful technique that has conditions tied to it. The Gu cultivator did use the same technique in the same way the first time he met A-Ting.

Enjoy, Qingqiu - This is the same clan that Miao Miao was part of. Since it's the name of a clan, I've translated it as it sounds, but it can also mean green hills. Di - This name has been popped up quite a few times now, e.g. Di barbarians. I don't think It's one single clan/country. In real...

Enjoy, Karma: In Chinese karma can be written as 2 characters that translate literally as 'cause' and 'effect'. Somewhat useful to know for the master's explanation. It's been a while now but just a reminder that the 'immortal melting-cage' move was the same one that forced Chen A-Ting to...

Enjoy, 'Full autonomy' decree: Translates to 'Act at one's discretion' or 'Act as one sees fit' which are both quite long so I shortened it. It's basically a decree that allows the general to act however he wishes.

I would stick with ‘sky pacers’ as it is the official English name and it avoids any star war puns. I wouldn’t worry about using any literal translation, if that were the case ‘stepper’ would be used.

    Song of the Sky Pacers

'Sky pacer' is similar to 'Sky walker', it's likely referring to cultivators who can easily traverse the skies. The chinese name translates literally as 'step sky song'. I believe the English crowd translated it as 'Sky walker' initially before the official english name of 'sky pacers' was chosen.

Enjoy, Gu: Wikipedia explains it best-Gu Tian Dong actually says he has the best beard in Ying Zhou which kinda works in Chinese as the word he uses is not restricted to humans. This doesn't quite translate well to english so I used plume instead.

Song of the Sky Pacers - Ch. 92

I'm not super clear on it but Mang mountain is amongst the 100k South-West mountains and overall they are definitely antagonistic towards the Chen. I'm not sure if they participated in the last war directly alongside the Di, but they would've had some allied relations. Long Nu protected Mang...

Enjoy... so many words this chapter... Eunuch - I should've mentioned this in last chapter's notes but the way they say 'eunuch' here is in more of an respectful manner. The english word for it generally has a negative connotation but yea just remember in older chinese courts they did have a...

Hey just wanted to give a shout-out to @Bad_Vader. He's helping out by removing the watermarks for the chapters, very much appreciated as the art is so good. This will take time to apply for all the chapters but you'll be able to see it for chapters 73 and 74 already.

Enjoy, Gonna agree with A-Ting here... please speak simpler chinese TT^TT Granny vs Granny: English doesn't have the same number of words used for relatives compared to chinese so a bit of this is lost in translation. The 'granny' the men use to address the elder at the start is in a somewhat...

Enjoy, Bitter pipa spirit - Pipa is the name of the instrument that Miaomiao is seen with. The literal translation might also be more accurate as 'Frustrated pipa spirit' but Qing Shangzi is mocking Miaomiao here which I think comes across better with 'bitter' rather than 'frustrated'.

Alright, I'll keep it as pavilion lord for now but if it comes up one more time I'll change it all. Sky Splitter sounds like it's fine for now as well.

Song of the Sky Pacers - Ch. 90

Alright, quite a bit to unpack for this one: Li Yan - this was the general in the earlier arc that repelled the Di invaders, back when A-Ting killed Baili Ji. Lin ZhenZhen is a new character. Demonic cultivators - just think of it as in an evil/heretical sense. Not necessarily of the demon...

Song of the Sky Pacers - Ch. 89

Enjoy, Couple of things I wanted to ask actually: When A-Ting's master is addressed formally by messengers, I've called him Pavilion Lord which he is as well. However they actually call him '大奉剑' which translates literally into 'big esteemed sword'. I'm not sure what a good english name for...
