I don't understand why the mangaka still did not deal with the part where they explain why the girl is there. In chapter 6 or 7 it was said that our mc is keeping her with him, but next chapter it suddenly turns into something new. I find that rather strange.

It seems that every chapter I lose a little faith in the protag getting justified at some point in the future. He is effectively a villain if he keeps going. I understand the antihero concept, but there's effectively nothing to admire him for. He has little to no virtue, diminishing...
