Always a big fan of the opposite-sex-love-rival trope. I mean, if they're gonna lose anyways, might as well have fun with it.

Not a fan of lesbo rival, especially ones that act like complete bitches

Bleh, not a good addition to the cast imo. I couldn't enjoy the chapter as much because of the new girl.

Not completely sure if it's only an insane fan getting excited or if she is genuinely a lesbian and likes her. If it's just a fan then they're usually pretty easy to get the point across and they'll chill. But if it's a lesbian, for whatever reason, in these manga's they are some of the most annoying ass characters ever. Especially the ones that basically molest the heroine.

Of course. (Bad) Authors really like adding these useless characters, don't they? If it's not an annoying younger sibling, friend or random adult butting in, it's a (usually man-hating) semi-lesbian character who adds nothing to the drama or vibe.

That "I hate you because you're a man and you're close to my crush" attitude really annoys me. Even if she were an actual lesbian, no lesbians behave like that. It's similar to the trope where every bystander looks annoyed at the protagonist because he has a pretty girlfriend.

New character aside, I like that he isn't head over heels for her or vice versa as of yet. It feels very organic how they get closer to each other by spending time together yet not forced by him regarding her as the epitome of female beauty or something like that. Looking forward more and how they will affect each other going forward.

Have you ever come across a rom-com manga where the lead male and female don't get together in the end? If you have, please link it.

Harem doesn't count, as that is the point.

Try Ichigo 100% if you haven't seen it already. I'm not sure if this satisfies the criteria.
It can be argued that the one that won is also a main lead. But this is the closest one I can think of. It also hurts.

In the page 23 (the moment before Hifune invites the MC), Ittou looks like a character from Adventure Time

It was somewhat stereotypical... but it's also clear that humor is intended.

That level of... spray... cannot be anything but intentional humor.

It will be interesting to see how the new girl reacts as she finds out what her idol is really like in person.
Just how far does it differ from her vision?
How incompatible is it with her life?
Disillusionment is an actual option, after all.
And probably the least damaging to her.

I just remember that i never end reading Ichigo 100. I read when was being scanlated in portuguese before i learned english, but i dropped at the time.
Thanks for remembering me of this serie, now i can finish it.
Yet i can see as Ichigo 100 can have two main female lead, and i don't know which of the two you considered as the 'Main main' female lead. So is a huge spoiler that i can't fully understand what you mean.
This said i recommend when you drop such spoilers from others series to use the
SPOILER
function.
Just a friendly remainder, cheers.

Yeah, I've been trying to figure out how to use that thing. Since it's not a clickable button, so I can't just click sth.

EDIT: Ah I got it kek.

Actually yes, it happen sometime, and it's really not unusual at all in manga.
But it's something really rare in classic rom-com shonen manga (harem or not) yeah, not many fill this.
And that's why a lot of them are not interesting to read, because you know what will bethe end since the beginning and it's not hard to know how it will happen too most of time.
