Every time I read a new chapter of this, and correctly predict that it will be about an inconsequential tournament while talking about another upcoming inconsequential tournament, with pages full of narration boxes instead of actual dialogue:

This manga went from okay to pulling out every dumb shounen fighting trope at once. Astoundingly braindead.

Sometimes it's unclear to me if this work is brilliant or dumb, but this particular page settles it as a work of genius.

I'm fine with inter-character drama. This is pretty out of left field though...like it doesn't really fit the kind of story this was made out to be. Sometimes it just seems like an author wants to write other kinds of things, but it's easier for them just to cram it in to an existing work rather...

Why not? Genji said it's a position he holds in high esteem and that it would be fine for her to do that and be a mother. This is also a magical world (so presumably STIs are not a concern), and she's the top of the high class list, so she's not doing anything sketchy.

And it's still a winning formula. This was a great chapter.

And this is only chapter 9! This story is one of my favorites. I expected good things and it has actually overdelivered.

This series continues to find so many ways to mix up the basic formula of "someone's size changes". I never imagined at the start it could go so far.

Having the characters be aware they're in a work of entertainment might not be an original idea, but it's still rare to see and helps this stand out from the sea of generic isekai power fantasies. So I'm for it.

In a cute series, this has been the most unreasonably cute chapter. That initial aloofness has been completely overwritten with mainline adorableness.

The way this story manages to make contradictory premises gel together is truly unmatched.

I really want a great reunion between Tomoko and the pres, but it would be in the nature of this manga for things to go wrong and never have that happen.
