trust me there is ALOT of stuff skipped, and some scenes are out of order (ie the scene happened earlier in the manga compared to LN) the confrontation with sasaki in the LN happened AFTER wataru agreed to help out whereas here in the manga it happened BEFORE.

I noticed it too, you can even see it in this chapter in natsukawa's flashbacks, sajou's eyes are full, bright, and now, his eyes aren't (the bottom half are now white) and he has eyebags almost every page

eh, not sure if it is "better", but Sajou decided to get serious after seeing something happen in the next chapter

this chapter made no sense i had to check across other sources to see if I was interpreting it correctly for some sentences also the manga skipped parts in the LN which is ungood

according to past chapters, isn't it because Wataru wanted her sister to act "as usual" towards him (aka as she did in the past)? iirc Wataru refused to accept his sister being nice to him as in order to "make up for what she did in the past"? imo, Kaede's just (trying to) be her usual self...
