    @shadowalpha its cause there are materials that are only obtained through a "failed" synthesis or conversion so its not actually a bad thing for it to "fail" since those materials can still be used after "failing"

    @plue keep in mind that the 200 gold is actually because he repaired an entire section of said wall by himself. So the 200 gold is actually several peoples worth of money that was meant to be given over a large period of time. its a more impressive amount if you think about it in that way.
