@JWChibi It is explained and even has a scene when Riotte's men are attacking Chrome before Riotte showed up, but in LN an arrow is shot at Chrome since they noticed anyone getting within a certain distance of him died, which would've worked if it wasn't for the fact that his skill says fixed damage to target yet doesn't specify whether the target has to be living or not. Also it is explained at this point the two different categories of targets, one being those that Chrome designates as his enemy, and the second being anything that would cause harm to Chrome. Now I don't think it would work on buildings because in LN Chrome states that if Riotte had just locked himself up in his castle then he couldn't do anything to him, and the only way to injure Chrome is to attack him with a projectile or magic that has higher endurance than his fixed damage. Anyway I do find it odd that he can destroy objects that could cause him harm, but a wall would stop, because I would honestly think if he tried hitting the wall his skill would automatically activate to protect him or that since it is shown that inanimate object can be affected by his skill that he could just choose a wall or door as his target, but it seems he can only target living beings for the first condition.
