Ah, yeah. The photograph situation is eggy af.
Seems to just be about presenting, though, based on other factors.
Fiction can only be analysed so far 🤷‍♀️

If it's on the group's dropped project and they only work with the author's approval, that must probably mean the author said no.

That's too bad.

Yeah, that photo scene has some big egg energy. It could absolutely just be a matter of presentation, as you said... But it's so easy to read into these things as a reader, and also very easy to read into these things as "this character would be trans if it wasn't written in such an oppressed society" since, from my understanding (I may be wrong) there are still a lot of... Problems... With trans rights in Japan (for example, many therapists/mental health professionals in Japan will outright tell people they're not trans and can't get treatment if they will be gay (are attracted to the same gender as they're transitioning to)

All that being said, I'm probably projecting on to the character a bit because my journey to realization started with crossdressing because I thought it was dumb that men's clothing is so intensely boring... One egg moment that always makes me laugh is that, 4 months before I realized I was non-binary, I told my partner that cross dressing is important to me because "I just can't deal with pretending I'm a boy all the time anymore"... Needless to say, she wasn't surprised when I came out to her.

Oof, that was a bit of a tangent... What I actually wanted to ask was: is the photo scene noticeably different in the original Japanese?

Also, that question on the survey is really great to hear about! :D

And yes, walk softly and carry a big flag 🏳️‍🌈❤️

I doubt it.
“Whenever I looked at the results I’d be like “this guy’s face is creepy/weird/gross””. Being the key line.

In a vacuum that’s a wobbling ostrich egg.

I was all kinds of a mess for my whole life. Like one of those jellyfish that turns back into an eg forever.

Like when I shopped in the women’s section for two years in high school. And carried a Sailor Moon purse. In the 90s. And wanted to be called Stephanie (not my name because I’m not that white). And spent a long time really depressed about realising I’d never bear a child.

Then there was that year or two when I used a mechanical epilator on MY FACE (it’s worse than you can imagine if you haven’t done it. Lotta blood and muffled screaming).

I ID’d aggressively agender for years, but presented nominally male while doing so, so that was a backslide.

I think summer 2016 being when I said “know what? Fuck it. I’m a woman.” I have ideas about why then related to my spiritual beliefs (I don’t really believe in coincidence, it just might not be you that’s getting the miracle)

And I’ve heard a lot of the same stuff about Japan. I don’t think T-blockers are a thing, really. You can’t get any confirmation surgery if you’ve taken HRT(?????? That’s worse than when you couldn’t get HRT before surgery in the west) or are married. so it’s basically “to Thailand!” or pay more for inferior work in Japan.

You have to get divorced and get surgery to change your gender marker... it’s aaaaall STUPID.

There’s also stuff going on in the LGBTQIA+ situation that doesn’t translate.
Bi erasure is on the “gay or straight” level. Bi is seen as an interloper that’s just gonna go back eventually etc.
“Onee” is a whole gender situation where it’s hyper-feminine presentation in many ways, but the people often ID male, or present masc visually but use female speech patterns...(including pronouns. First person pronouns are gendered. For example: Hazuki uses a technically gender neutral pronoun that’s usually used by men. Iori uses the most masculine pronoun)
I wish I understood. I like learning.

I’m also reading a manga which is 7 chapters deep, no collected volume yet, about a bisexual poly relationship. It’s a love comedy.
Something like “MM+MF=Happiness!” Is in the description on pixiv.
It’s adorable and hilarious.

Title translates to “A love triangle that will definitely have a happy ending!”

I can neither confirm nor deny accuracy, as that ain’t my life, but this shit is adorable.

I assume you’ve read FukaBoku. That’s got all the letters.

Chapter 31 was translated on Twitter but also the confirmation that they won't be doing any more translations for this series :

You know what my issue with this is? Under Japanese intellectual property rights law, they don't give a shit. Look at how often a manga or anime will make a blatant as hell reference to a product or name brand and get away with it just because they changed the name SLIGHTLY. WcDonald's? A person or company will build a specific brand image, and then a manga or anime creator will take all of that hard effort for themselves and use it to make money. Japanese intellectual property law is complete crap in this sense.

I am explicitly not saying that this author is doing that with this series. I honestly don't recall. If the translators of this series want to make this decision, then I am not criticizing the translators. This is honestly just me complaining about how absolutely shit Japanese law can be on this subject.

This comments section is, unsurprisingly, just a dozen trainwrecks all on fire full of passengers.
I dunno why I keep doing this to m'self. Reading them, I mean.
