I was actually looking up his name earlier in the story cz he was mentioned but I forgot his face , and first result I got was this MAJOR spoiler of him being friend , I thought I got fucked so hard but he got revealed early so its all G

hmm... you know, I guessed this 100 chapters ago, but now that I'm thinking about it, this would make more sense as a final confrontation deep within the bowels of the enemy lair, in a properly shounen style. A single gunshot in an old science lab just somehow doesn't seem quite fitting, and everything up till now has at least been fitting of a shounen story. If Friend is Fukubei, then that corpse is not Friend. And if Friend isn't Fukubei (the more likely option, now that I can consider how things ended up), then they pulled another Sadakiyo where they turned him into a pawn. God, if the final reveal is that it's Kenji, I'm gonna flip.

Fukubei has always been trying to frame Sadakiyo this whole time.

• During class reunion Fukubei said that he let Sadakiyo to peek into Book of Prophecy.
• During Bloody Event 2000 Fukubei is the first guy who spotted "Sadakiyo". Then proceed to jump off the building.
• In Tomodachi Land VR game he put Sadakiyo (older) face behind the mask.
• Fukubei also threatened Sadakiyo under the giant Terus Teru Bozu
• When Sadakiyo tell the same story as what Fukubei said in class reunion, he add that Fukubei is the one who imagine what if Book of Prophecy actually happened

There are two masks shown in Tomodachi Land VR game, Ninja Hatori mask, and Ultraman mask. Ninja Hatori mask appear in Fukubei flashback. While Ultraman mask appear in Sadakiyo and Kenji flashback. Ninja Hatori mask is the same mask use by Friend.

well unless theres a whole nother loop and it's someone else considering how many chapters are left
or that he comes back to life somehow idk
but it all makes sense

I've had this hunch about him ever since he was introduced
at the elementary school reunion
he and Kenji went to 'his house' afterwards and Kenji made him food, and Fukubei randomly remembered it being Sadakiyo who saw the book of prophecy as well and who was Friend. however, ALSO at the reunion, the teacher had asked whoever had bent the spoons to raise his hand, and Sadakiyo HADNT been there yet the teacher had acted like the spoon bender WAS.
Also, the way he "revealed" it was Sadakiyo felt kinda forced or rushed, like he's half asleep and suddenly "remembered". PLUS his death he started shouting about his backstory to the fake Friend out of nowhere. Sure it gave his death more impact slightly but it had also felt like he was rushing himself towards his death in the first place. He had taken control of what was happening just to end up dead.
PLUS there was no close up of his dead body because Kenji told Maruo not to look at it because it seemed bloody.

Then if you think about the backstories, especially Sadakiyo's, Sadakiyo talks about the Friend of his who he saw the book of Prophecy with, and in HIS version of the backstory we never see that "friend's" face. But we know that friend to be Fukubei, so it further confirms Fukubei is Friend.
