hmm... you know, I guessed this 100 chapters ago, but now that I'm thinking about it, this would make more sense as a final confrontation deep within the bowels of the enemy lair, in a properly shounen style. A single gunshot in an old science lab just somehow doesn't seem quite fitting, and everything up till now has at least been fitting of a shounen story. If Friend is Fukubei, then that corpse is not Friend. And if Friend isn't Fukubei (the more likely option, now that I can consider how things ended up), then they pulled another Sadakiyo where they turned him into a pawn. God, if the final reveal is that it's Kenji, I'm gonna flip.

Fukubei has always been trying to frame Sadakiyo this whole time.

• During class reunion Fukubei said that he let Sadakiyo to peek into Book of Prophecy.
• During Bloody Event 2000 Fukubei is the first guy who spotted "Sadakiyo". Then proceed to jump off the building.
• In Tomodachi Land VR game he put Sadakiyo (older) face behind the mask.
• Fukubei also threatened Sadakiyo under the giant Terus Teru Bozu
• When Sadakiyo tell the same story as what Fukubei said in class reunion, he add that Fukubei is the one who imagine what if Book of Prophecy actually happened

There are two masks shown in Tomodachi Land VR game, Ninja Hatori mask, and Ultraman mask. Ninja Hatori mask appear in Fukubei flashback. While Ultraman mask appear in Sadakiyo and Kenji flashback. Ninja Hatori mask is the same mask use by Friend.
