@chillmare Its certainly different. Too different to say its better though. Its like reading a shounen versus and Isekai. You can be both but there are plenty of differences between them despite all the similar parts.

damn... the gamer sense too op... but our mc have the brain even before the awakening...even tho what merilirem said is also true... i cant agree to it 100%... the gamer webtoon and this manhua... they r quite the same... only the gamer part that is... seems like the gamer is focused more on the mc just growing in the abyss world... while this one i think uhh it is focused on (too early to say it) solo leveling kek... ok i dunno what im saying but i dont see that they have a big difference... prolly different plot but ya they r quite close to each other...

@izayamikaelis
I've been reading manhwa/webtoons for a couple of years now but sometimes I still thought the image is not loading properly.

If that guy is using a crossbow I wonder why different types of guns don't work

oh sure...cause greedy newbie hunting arsewipes that get in WAY over their heads aren't totally cliche or anything...

@Solaz it's probably not that guns don't explicitly work, but that whatever "skill" a person gets when he/she becames a hunter often specifically needs a given [weapon type] to work and without the relevant skills weapons are mostly useless (unless they are made from expensive, rare materials or possess special, rare, and probably VERY expensive enchantments). so if someone [awakens] and gets hunter skills for swords, that [sword] user would get skills many times more effective as sword vs demon beasts than an unenchanted gun vs demon beasts would be, in which case, bringing the gun would be rather useless...and even if they could get an enchanted gun that fires rare material bullets that would be somewhat effective, it'd probably be cheaper and far more efficient to just get an enchanted sword made of some rare material instead, and then they'd get the inherent synergy with their natural skills
so the only people who would have reason to actually use guns would be [gun] users

@InsaneInsomniac Has it been said in the story that people need skills for weapons to work against monsters or that people are enchanting and using materials to make weapons?

The MC was using a regular steel sword without a skill for it in the personal dungeon and it seemed to be working fine (super strength probably helped though)
It seems like unless you have magic that boosts a type of weapon then you should be using the best modern weapons available. (I imagine a flamethrower could be quite useful for a swarms of small things like the bugs)

Also why would there be military with guns guarding if they would be so useless with them.

Anyway I just hope the manga addresses it in some way other than the MC being to poor to get them.

@chillmare System wise they seem pretty similar. The gamer has more broken feats but the mechanics he has cover everything i can see in this. So im not sure what you mean beyond not liking how open the gamers system is. Things such as learning skills. I would like to mention that we haven't really covered that stuff yet though.

@Solaz I never said conventional weapons don't work, I said that probably many hunters get skills that make other weapons more effective than guns, so the only hunters who would use guns are [gun] skill users. the military, on the other hand, is probably mostly normal humans, and as such they don't get skills to buff other weapons and in turn simply use the best guns they can get
it's kinda like if you play skyrim and have a maxed 1-handed-weapon skill tree and base archery tree with no perks then start using a low tier bow, you aren't gonna be nearly as effective with it...except in this world you get handed a skill level/perk set the moment you [awaken] and it never changes (unless you are the MC here)

Are you kidding,, C rank dungoens and going without a healer ? Suicide!. Sure you can be good, well organized, great teamwork. But you need at least 1 in case of accidents or emergencies. You can plan well, but nothing ever goes perfect all the time. Unforseen problems can occur. Do they really have to learn the hard way ? or maybe they wont learn when they have a wipe.

I was going to chew the MC for being an ass to the kid. Obviously hes from a rich family and could tell it was his first raid (his armor and shields still shining and unscratched , is the give away). But MC said something decent to him at the end. So I'll cut him some slack for for now.

As for the MC, sometimes it seems like hes smart, then he goes and says something dumb or just ends up being slow. Isnt it common sense to go into a dungeon "equipped" Just cuase he goes in bare hands, doesnt mean every else has too. You'd want to have equipment and tools when your life is on the line. The more reliable the better. Maybe he should raise some intelligence. Hes been doing his dungoen raiding wrong alll along. So while he says dumb shit time to time or being slow at it . Then he say smart stuff like about the warning about insects, he seems to know everyones roles like hes some tactician. Hes like a commentator whos explaining everyone roles and how the operate. So he does know some shit ? confusing.

As for why someone might be using a crossbow over guns, it could also have to do with how the materials used to make the hunter weapons work. Probably using the monsters as parts? I've seen other settings where you could make and use guns, but for whatever reason they aren't able to make them as useful as swords and bows with the materials available, or they'd be way too expensive to make at that level (for instance, potentially reusable bow ammo vs almost certainly one time use bullets, that could be part of it). If it's important enough I guess they'll explain it eventually instead of leaving us to speculate.
