Nah, that would be unrealistic as he completes the DQ first thing every day since the first failure.
The full restore makes more sense and helps show how broken the gamer skill is.

few problems with that:
1) it is a weak move, and he is a badass now on;
2) he should have to wait the end of the day to fail the daily quest;
3) the last (and first) time he did not complete the quest he was teleported in the pentalty zone,
where he had to survive for 4 hours against over powered (but appartently not so much) monsters (chapter 11/12).
I don't think it is a great way to escape, first of all because you cannot know that the next pentaly won't be worse,
second because he would eventually return in the starting point, ehausted, which is not necessarily a safe move.

Probably I should not take this story so seriously ?

For the same reason a movie has to explain where or how the powers of the characters work even though it was made for the fans of the serie: So that if anyone that doesn't have the same bagagge as us were to read it they would not be lost when he start being super OP outta nowhere.

Penalty zone probably scales with his level. Otherwise it wouldn't be much of a penalty after he levels up. The status reset was a much better solution. On the other hand, those guys returned way to fast. Weren't they going to wait for the spider to fall back asleep? I know he finished his 10km run during the fight. A 10km run is about an hour. Since he was full sprinting the entire time it shouldn't have been more than 20 minutes. Certainly not enough time for those guys to return to the cave.

That weapon is actually OP as fudge. If bleed causes his opponent to lose 1% of health each second, that means once he inflicts bleed, and if bleed can last 100 seconds, he can win any fight.
