All I can say about this is that I do hope that this is not another one-chapter Yotsuba "arc." Kind of disappointing if all her dedicated chapters are done only in one chapter at a time.
From what I feel, the way she acted during the second half, such as her saying "I seriously hate you" were attempts at making a lie before talking about the rumours. Kind of obvious by how it's shown that those words were not sincere at all. Just attempts at being "I don't actually like you, but there's this we're-a-couple gossip" but her being Yotsuba and failing to make such supposed like convincing.
However, that face in the second to last set of pages... I would be lying if I said I was not concerned. But what can I say. Not a face we've seen from Yotsuba. Is it meant to be the reveal that she does have an ulterior plan, seeing how her gig of making Fuutaro part of the class rep was done "to show he's a good man" to others, and are setting aside personal feelings? We know she's a stepford smiler, and seems to have deep guilt issues of dragging people down, on top of not minding being a doormat to people's "need for help." Her prioritizing others before herself may just couple with the possibility that she's setting aside her inner feelings to make Fuutaro shine. And if some people notice, to a point that it's apparent that she's not approaching Fuutaro in such a positive way because of her ditzy personality. As a Yotsuba fan, I'd like to say yes and believe this is a build up towards somewhere... but for now, I feel it could be a dreadful red herring and that she is really a Tomoda... orz
@Nononchan While Ichika hasn't been scratched off the list of being "the girl who kissed" I've always found it unsettling to believe that her being an actress guaranteed her being able to pull a facade. All the chapters we've seen of her have kind of pulled a mixture of who Ichika is. Is she the messy but reliable older sister? Is she an amateur actress who needs a few pushes? Or is she the maiden in love who really hasn't taken any step, even though she has sized up to a rivalry with at least Miku? To me, she's been the most... stilted? I don't know how to call it, as it may just be Negi-sensei's depiction of her, but in parts like the Yotsuba date arc and when she told everyone to get a job, she had this... awfully robotic expression. Not that she was being emotionless, but the way her face was drawn in those seen have made a rather bad impression of where she's supposed to go. At the very least with Itsuki, she has a consistent if somewhat shallow personality presentation (aside from how she's become the go-to sister for consoling ideas, although none of the other sisters fill those shoes any better anyways).
We also don't know if "girl who kissed = Rena" at all. Let's not jump to conclusions.
