I thought of that as well. Homoncululi are replicas of humans, so that's everything excluding the reproductive organs. If was a guy, putting the gem where his jewels were would be understandable, but this is a manga, not a Hentai comic.

Best place would be on the chest, easy to hide, and less inconveniences combined with making it an apparent flaw in case they go rouge. My crystal clear vote; Safety for humans.

Ah, you dirty minded you. I was referring to how the huge jewel on her chest wasn't covered up, as that would be the only visible proof of her being a homunculus, and considering she otherwise looks very human, is there a specific reason they can't cover the jewel?

We don't know, not yet at least. We don't know if a law has been made or if its an unwritten rule, or a side-effect of it being plaster-covered. We do know, that she fears for her life.

Unless a homunculus like her is totally illegal and by law/decree must be destroyed... why not just tell your sister she's a homunculus? Hell, even then, she still might keep it a secret given the circumstances.
I mean it's not like they created her, and they probably don't have the ability to do so.
