You could say that its more realistic this way, since this things happend all the time.
But still, i want a good ending god damnit, this is not real life! =/

Even if this series got axed, they couldve made it they ended up with each other. sure its cheesy, but its better than making a fucking joke of an ending for a decent slf manga

The break up was ok, shit happens.

But an invitation to the wedding for the ending ? No, thank you.

That sure seems sad but its a realistic ending for a realistic manga though. The author did a very good job and was coherent.
Maybe Futaba's marrying Touma ?
I think the groom is an unknown guy though

Kaito ruined whole manga in second to last chapter.

This isn't the ending, the next chapter will be the final one, I'm not sure why people think this was the last one. I think this is actually a good set up for the conclusion as the main conflict of the story was pretty much resolved in this chapter. Not sure who Futaba is marrying, could be a random guy or some side character BUT Masumi's feelings for Futaba were never resolved ( I don't think?) so maybe her? Thats just speculation though. This manga was ultimately about the individual character's self-discovery and acceptance of themselves, and they all showed their growth in this chapter (i.e. screaming I LOVE YOUUU at the beach). I personally didn't think Futaba and Taichi would stay together forever as, realistically, most highschool relationships just don't work out. Also, I think one of the characters getting married is an apt ending for a story about adolescence.
I apologize for the rant.

@Enok You right.
I'd say I'm disappointed things didn't work out between them but I'm not surprised. Sure, we only saw the beginning of the relationship but it was pretty clearly a "first love" situation, even if they felt something for each other it's clearly not love.
Think back. They spent a lot of time together but there was never really good chemistry between them. Life goes on and this progression fits with the themes of the manga so far. I am worried that this rushing is due to it being axed but the development itself is not coming out of left field.

It's not about them not being together, but the author rubbing on our faces that no one gets a satisfying end.

Even if Futaba was happy with the one she's marrying.. Why should readers care ?
Taichi also seems to be with someone. The same applies.

I'm pretty disappointed how the author rush it to the end with the timeskip.
