Equal rights means equal fights. If they want to use social pressures and gang tactics, he should be free to use his greater strength and aggression to counter it.

The trope still has traction because its a reflection of reality. A suggestive picture and some false accusations and all of a sudden the whole world is baying for his blood. Just look at what happened to Johnny Depp because of Amber Heard. People don't think that women can abuse men, but they can. That combined with the intentionally engineered docility of japanese men and you get the MC as a representation of how many japanese men feel in their society.

@Raudhbjorn You should thank anyone who helps you in any way. That's the very basics of basic good manners. If you see some person carrying a lot of stuff struggling with a door, you might go and help them with the door, depending on the circumstances. If it's a normal person, they will happily thank you for the help. If it's the MC of this series, they will instead ask you why you let them struggle with the door for so long before helping. Would that sort of retort encourage you to help the next person in a similar situation, huh?
