I've been running it through my mind for a while, but this chapter made me realize that this is the Japanese take on what the old Archie comics was... but much better!!!
True, you don't have Tadano playing tonsil hockey with any of the girls, much less touching them, Komi-san comes across as so wholesome. Her social anxiety prevents her from most verbal communication but it's treated with compassion, thanks to Tadano. Instead of teasing her, he helps her along, and in her quest for 100 friends, his outgoing nature is bringing people close to her, and, at the same time, helping her communicate. This chapter had very little text, playing mostly on action. Best chapter in the series.
