As always, the twat bitching about free stuff dressed with some national socialist grammar, @yuushin just ignore them and use their tears to sweeten your coffee. Thanks for the translation.

@frozard this whole notion of "it's done for free means you can't criticise it" is a pox upon scanlation considering the advent of groups with a patreon, meaning it's not done for free anymore, the advent of machine translations where chapters just don't make any narrative sense, and as shown here, the willingness of scanlators to shitpost within the original work by forcing memes into it where there were none before, from this to the whole 'Wakamono no Kuro Mahou' affair. this isn't like with the old anime scene where there were multiple groups and you could afford to have jokesubs, there's often only one group to a series and it's precisely why criticism is needed, because if they're fucking it up badly and aren't taking their craft, and scanlation is a craft, seriously, then you're stuck with bad chapters done by people who don't give a shit about anything but their ego. case in point:

@yuushin mad, eh?
buddy how about I remind you that you're reading shit for free illegally, I'm also translating illegally, for free, if I can't have some fun doing it then how about you go learn Japanese and read it yourself. If I don't do it then some other "slave" will do it eventually, or this is just one of the many free shit you can read, that's all it is for you, right? What a load of shit you are 😂
But I guess too bad it's not so shit that you'll actually do it yourself to improve your miserable life, eh
"haha i just do this for fun br0 how dare you say my shit stanky af you do better go learn jpn 👺"

throughout this thread you have not posted an actual reason as to why anyone who cares about quality would read your group's releases; you've basically admitted you don't give a damn about translation quality since you decided to shove memes into the original work, and are poor at handling criticism going entirely by your posts itt. if you care so little about the original work, what makes anyone who isn't a small baby trying to get the shiny jingling keys and expects someone to do a proper job give a shit about future releases from your group? and for those who are easily amused at regurgitated references and memes like we live in a comedy version of that darmokk episode of tng, why not just actually shitpost on 4chan or watch family guy?

You are able to read the Manga without unlocking it with with money beforehand hence it is free and if u wish to support them through patreon or actually buying the manga or even scanlating the manga you bought yourself or through other means is your choice and nobody is forcing you to do that or making it a requirement so you can read Manga. This is a fan translation and they are by no means professionals who do this for a living. You are free to point out mistakes for the sake of the quality of the manga or for the sake of the translator/groupe growth and improvement. People dont always notice mistakes even if you have a proof reader. Bceuase teh brain soemitmes oevr raeds tehm jsut lkie tihs 😂 No, for real you have no right to bitch around because you are free to read it or not but you are forced to read it because no one else is doing the job so all the small man in you could do is rant and make them hear your plea with spite and not gratefullness. Fullerhorn you are just a Kid crying for your Mothers attention.

@Flupser why should i be grateful and inclined to donate ('free with a tip jar' isn't free) over a release they have a full-page ad dedicated solely to their patreon, multiple typos, and an intentional mistranslation that the translator put in it because "it was fun" when other groups who also aren't professionals are capable of handling themselves like they actually care about the original work and the work they do scanlating. no one forced me, yes, but since the translator has shown he doesn't give a fuck about the source material or his craft and has stated he has an actual job and a 'luxury apartment' or some shit, no one's forcing him to keep translating.

it's better to have no scans than bad scans done by people who don't care and won't care, because if someone puts out a bad release, that means no one else will go over to fix it until years later, if at all. the jojo fanbase for over a decade had to put up with bad scans of parts 4 and 5, but with 4, everything made sense even if the grammar was fucked up badly, while part 5 had decent grammar but an innaccurate translation. how many memes were made about king crimson's power being confusing that were revealed to be based on the scans' translation being done improperly? here we have a translator openly saying he intentionally mistranlated something, in a release with several typos, for fun, breaking any sort of trust for accuracy or quality from this group and especially this translator, and people are defending him for some insane reason instead of having some damn standards.

@fullerhorn: one joke = I don't give a single fuck about the source material eh, nice shit talking from your ass, you can ask any translator to rate my translation and see what they say. FYI a lot of translators from many groups often consult me regarding Japanese, I even helped a group writing business mail to an author asking for permission and rights to translate.
I put that joke there because the MC literally explained it in the next bubble, Google translate and people who knows Russian gave me the same answer, nothing of value was lost.
I see that you're so mad that your punctuations and capitalizations are out of the window now LMAO 😂

@yuushin you disrespect the source material by changing the author's words and intentions solely to make a joke. in a series about politics and economy, you change a line with some political history that, even devoid of its historical context, would have been of interest or relevance to a queen, or someone pretending to be a queen, into a line from a disco song, turning it into a non-sequitur and pulling members of the audience out of their suspension of disbelief. here:

(a)
agent: but if you think for the sake of your country, it's better to form a relationship with...
mitsuha: лояльность k Pодине!
mitsuha: "hero ivanov", our country's hero who is the saviour of my great-grandfather, he often said this phrase. i've heard that it means loyalty to the motherland.

(b)
agent: but if you think for the sake of your country, it's better to form a relationship with...
mitsuha: ra-ra-rasputin lover of the russian queen!
mitsuha: "hero ivanov", our country's hero who is the saviour of my great-grandfather, he often said this phrase. i've heard that it means loyalty to the motherland.

which one makes more sense, in context, a or b? which one makes her look more intelligent and manipulative? here's another question, hotshot, what do you think is a more valid response by russian spies to b: "hey this little girl just started singing a disco song and said it means loyalty to the motherland, is she really what she says she is" or immediately believing she thinks lyrics to a disco song mean loyalty to the motherland?

@mage_goo i don't know what you're asking here. the context for this scene, and others in this series, is an adult, mitsuha, allows others to think she's younger than she is, as a means of manipulation. in this case, as 'translated', her suddenly singing a song originally from 1978 and saying it's from a hero her great-grandfather knew would send up red flags from anyone with any sort of competency, and she doesn't have the luxury of using advanced knowledge and technology like with those of the other world here as an excuse, these are people from her own world, who are used to negotiation, subterfuge, and bluffing. which do you think a machiavellian plotter would use to help bullshit her way through a story with russian spies involving a fake great-grandfather, a phrase with history going back to ww2 or a song from '78?
