Yeah, there’s a lot of idealistic views of Japan among weebs. I had them until I went there.

It’s really not that different to any other place in many ways.
it’s better in some and worse in others, but it’s just a place where humans live their lives.

It’s extremely patriarchal and pretty misogynistic. Queers are still gonna get looks. There’s not as bad of a homeless problem, but it’s a thing. They just lived in the nearby park when I was there. We went there to drink.
It’s also a very, very drinky place.



The weirdest thing there was all the animism to the general cultural view of the supernatural/spiritual/conceptual aspects of the world as a whole. Reverence for a really old rock or tree. Aight.

I’m not hiding anything.
I’m just a weeb that lived in Japan months and dropped a lot of my illusions as a result.

I’m a 41yo woman, so I have some perspective on life, and what it’s like to be a woman in a society not great for women.
and I specifically said the country is just like any other place, just people living their lives. It’s fine. I like the food, the countryside is gorgeous, I made some friends, had good times. Some things are better, some worse. I literally said that.
I never worried about being shot or someone harassing me for existing In general.

Only reason I’m not planning on going back is I don’t want to leave my wife and kid there, and they don’t speak the language, which complicates travel. it’s also really expensive to travel overseas with three people.

I might be young, but I'm not blind. I've ran into enough western idiots who run their mouth with utmost confidence talking trash about another Asian country's problem (usually Japan or Korea), only that they are either totally wrong, or the country they live in has the same problems, sometimes worse.

No no no. I don't have any problem with anyone saying Japan has problems. Because that's what I always say. I have problems with smartass who go out of their way to make it seems like the problems Japan has are exclusive to them, or that they are the worst. It's not just Japan. I see this attitude toward other Asian countries, like Korea, Vietnam, etc. And I am beginning to see some common characters in the people who do so.

I know how to spot them and deal with them now. I have no respect for SJWs, westaboos, western supremacists, and the likes. They deserved to be shamed and vocally shit on.
