I have ... questions. Like, this woman is supposed to be a trained warrior, right? But she recommends to a skinny spellcaster a morning star, which not only is heavy and tiring to use, but also a scythe, which are not actually meant to be used as weapons in the first place and are very awkward and clumsy in the hands of someone who hasn't trained with one for a long period of time. She should have gone with something simpler like a mace, dagger, or spear.

I know I know, it's fluffy and cute. It really is. It just bothered me a bit is all.

@CelticMutt Yeah, for a seasoned warrior, she should be able to tell which weapons a wimpy-seeming guy like him is suited for. Well, I'm willing to chalk it up as her being so out-of-bounds from common sense that she didn't realize not everyone is obscenely physically fit.

I'm trying to figure out whether it's more or less expensive on Fooly for his girlfriend to be into armor and weapons instead of clothes and accessories.
Leo seems like the pragmatic type, so even if her purchases are expensive, she'll probably use it until it wears out, right?

Why people talking about common sense and practicality of the weapons when her armor ain't practical at all.

Yup, it's clear that Leo-sama is recommending weapons based on her opinionated happy memories rather than practicality, which in itself, is adorable.

As mentioned elsewhere, flails are powerful, but challenging and exhausting to use, and actual war-scythes are a fauchard-like polearm, since agricultural scythes are at an oblique angle only good for cutting grass, wheat, or the user's shins. Leo's fantasy scythe is more a poorly-proportioned bladed pick.

As for practical weapons for Fooly, I'd say a quarterstaff, a spear, or a longsword (i.e. bastard sword), as they could all grant a measure of reach and make the most of average or squishy-wizard strength.

tl;dr: We're not here for the realism, we're here for the squee and scars and abs.

Leo claims that a scythe could kill goblins...

Ugh... Japanese fantasy tropes and "scythes".
Putting aside that a completely straight handle would make a scythe ineffective at reaping anything... AND that a pole with a circular cross-section is less effective than one with a slightly oval cross-section (for purposes of controlling the rotation of the weapon)... the blade of that particular weapon is beyond atrocious not least because it connects to the pole at such a narrow, angled point that would pretty much snap it off with even a little force.
It is not only a complete failure as a scythe, but wouldn't work as a pick nor a ge either.

I see that many people came for the knight theme and war/weapons in it's entirety. Miss Knight is just being cute but ofc some realism would be nice but then where else would these types of designs come from? reality? I just hope that their isn't any criticizing in later comment forums, I do like being informed but this is quite early in the chapter, I can't imagine what it'd be like once the fanbase grows to larger proportions.

Wait, are people in old day actually using Morning star as a weapon?

Like you can only use it when you are alone, unless you want to hit your ally in the middle of the fight.

I'm honestly surprised and disappointed the female knight couldn't identify the wizards poor strength and fighting experience, because a spear would've been the right choice for him. Its not as "cool" but its the most practical, easy to learn and keeps enemies at a distance plus doesn't require strength.

@Hehahe That said, if he could control the morning star with magic, that would be pretty damn scary ngl. Like Rem from ReZero. If I were him I'd inscribe the entire face of that ball with inscriptions for spatial magic and gravity manipulation so he could wield it purely by mental magic control plus some hand movement for visual aide.
