dwarves on fantasy settings usually have long life spans, some is just over 200 others settings they can go over 1000 with no problem.

Dwant's goal was never to escape; his goal was always revenge. Positioning it as escape merely allowed him to get the other dwarves onboard to help.

It's already been cleared up in the previous chapters. They got dumped there with the Demons after losing the war a thousand years ago. Dwant is Bombu's younger brother, and Bombu's still spry and alive in the overworld. This obviously implies they live long.

There's probably more to it because Harold is also still around.

Harold's a special case completely unrelated to the Dwarfs. Harold apparently has so much vitality, he's able to live a thousand years chained Prometheus-style in a rocky deathland rich in lifespan-sucking ores. Our Hero is a mystery.
