I wonder, in the last chapter many people say that adachi is autism, is it true?
I haven't read this story thoroughly so I'm not sure if I've missed any parts.

there is way faster progress than in normal romance manga.
They usually start dating by 20 chapters or even less, while in normal romance they drag it on for +100 chapters.
But yeah adachi to shimamura is really slow.

I can guarantee you that I've read my fair share of yuri manga and the most common trope is remaining friends until the last chapter. That's when the relationship isn't subtly hinted or a bubbly bunch of bullshit ends the series. My Dynasty Scans account is over a decade old (being a reader for a lot longer) and I swear to $deity most of yuri manga ends undisclosed, with random bullshit or axed because the author dragged it for far too long.

It didn't help that most mags were published quarterly or bi-annually.

Yeah, it is just this series. Yuri manga do not tend to run for more than 2 volumes, and when they do at most you can expect 50 to 60 chapters. It is a niche and both the authors and publishers know it.
