When Shimamura is being affectionate and Adachi isn't imploding they're actually really cute together
I think my favorite part of the chapter wasI'm just a simple country lawyer but I'm pretty sure it's still frowned upon!
But what if the child is an alien that just blatantly ignores the laws of physics, reality and common sense?I'm just a simple country lawyer but I'm pretty sure it's still frowned upon!
Adachi is actually mid implosion rn and shimamura literally just started being more affectionate so I think they're cute regardless of being incredibly unhealthyWhen Shimamura is being affectionate and Adachi isn't imploding they're actually really cute together
Actually the ending was already shown a long time ago. We just here for the ride. I found this out yrs ago.i love this manga, but it honestly doesn't feel like a romance. the way adachi and shimamura interact just feels so.. empty?? adachi is super anxious and clingy and shimamura is hella emotionally detached, i'm hoping they communicate and work out their problems soon because otherwise their relationship's gonna continue with this strained, uncomfortable air.. either that or they'll have a fight and break up. you can only hang onto someone so detached for so long, especially when you're THAT codependent, until you either blow up or burn out.
honestly, every chapter feels almost like buildup for some sort of inevitable moment where everything goes wrong. every event for whatever reason always seems like its told through the frame of recollection, not like it's actively happening.
weeell it's really hard to adapt pages of introspection into a drawing, personally i think the author does the best they canI'm just glad that I read the LN version. I love this part of the story and I think Shimamura's thought process is the best, which the manga didn't really focused on?
Honestly, this is something I feel a lot with manga in general. One yuri manga example that sticks out a lot to me is how people treat Nanase in My Girlfriend's Not Here Today. Like, people expect a level of maturity and understanding how other people feel when... she's a high schooler. It seems like a lot of readers have high expectations of two YOUNG individuals. Y’all are silly gooses to think that (I think high schoolers?) are able to understand a smidge of communication. They’re still figuring out life
I agree, shit there’s people in their 20’s/30’s who still don’t understand 😭Honestly, this is something I feel a lot with manga in general. Some of you are way too used to reading yuri where two characters who are in love with each other are able to communicate their feelings and thoughts perfectly and there are barely any conflict in their personalities and lifestyle. I personally like a more realistic portrayal of a relationship between two teenagers of this manga a lot than other yuri manga there are where it’s all sunshine and rainbow.i love this manga, but it honestly doesn't feel like a romance. the way adachi and shimamura interact just feels so.. empty?? adachi is super anxious and clingy and shimamura is hella emotionally detached, i'm hoping they communicate and work out their problems soon because otherwise their relationship's gonna continue with this strained, uncomfortable air.. either that or they'll have a fight and break up. you can only hang onto someone so detached for so long, especially when you're THAT codependent, until you either blow up or burn out.

i absolutely read a lot of yuri with miscommunications & conflicts (especially set in highschool), but i just noticed this specific air specifically in adachi and shimamura. it's not a complaint per se, it's more like something i noticed about the way they interact. like, for example, relationship guidelines was one of the first titles i read, it has a TON of miscommunication but the characters are still clearly emotionally engaged with each other and their dynamic is far more balanced. there's a difference between “realistic emotional conflict” and “two people stuck in a dysfunctional push–pull loop.” right now adachi is basically anxious-attachment incarnate and shimamura is emotionally avoidant. i’m actually really into more psychological stories with messy, complex character dynamics, so i don’t dislike this at all, but i feel like no one ever really addresses that aspect of their relationship for some reason so i wanted to know if anyone thought the same or if i was alone in this feeling. Some of you are way too used to reading yuri where two characters who are in love with each other are able to communicate their feelings and thoughts perfectly and there are barely any conflict in their personalities and lifestyle. This is also why most yuri work end just when they start dating… the author cannot figure out how to change the dynamic between them once they go from friends to lovers
