Well if your prediction is true, there's gonna be a really bad twist considering the original story is pretty dark.

Fun fact: The reason for stepmothers are prevalent villains in their collection of tales, is there own retcon of the folk tales they gathered. It's likely that they were just 'mothers' in the original folk tales - as their purpose would serve as a cautionary tale.
the Grimm brothers had a good relationship with their mother. I'm interested to see where this goes.
