But she kissed him on his cheeks here when he said he felt a kiss on his lips.

It's interesting to see how many readers continue to try and push the BL route with Takt even though this chapter has seemingly disproven it. Whether it's true or not, it seems some kind of reader demand is there for this development. I subscribe to the Takt's inferiority complex interpretation though, so to me, Takt beat the allegations.

Well the author has done primarily GL and BL stuff. Even has a crossdressing BL one. So it wouldn't surprise me if they did go that route.

As for the kiss: there has to be a reason why he said he felt a kiss on his lips. She kissed him, or pecks him on his cheek here. Not his lips and the panel made sure to make it clear that it was his cheek. This just feels like she's been used as a red herring. Plus the page where he wakes up after having a sex dream about Shizuku and the 4 panels parallel Shizuku and Taku's faces as Riku wakes up. There could be something there (page 14, chapter 14).

Regardless, the real issue is why Shizuku is going along with it when it's clear she's only ever wanted/wants Riku. She seems genuine, I'm assuming Taku has some weird arrangement with her. She never looks happy after being with him. I don't yet see how inferiority would handle why Shizuku doesn't break it off herself, even though she clearly wants to.

My wildest theory is that they they both do like Riku and came to an agreement to "date" each other in order to move past their crushes, and so that they could maintain the friend group Riku likes so much and the story keeps mentioning (neither of them would get a headstart over the other). He tried it with the other girl and it didn't work out or whatever. Shizuku is afraid to do something that will break up Riku's friendship with Taku (and maybe doesn't want to reveal Taku's complicated situation to Riku for that same reason?). Something like that. Taku's competitiveness might be a slight misdirect and could have to do with losing out to Shizuku. The story is how both of them are struggling with and breaking that agreement etc. (mainly Shizuku, of course, since if this is all true in some way, her feelings would be less complicated than Taku's).

Honestly, as of now, a lot of the events would somewhat fall into place if that theory is relatively on the mark. But that's my wildest assumption and that is likely way way off, there's not a lot to go off of.

This was the best theory i was already caught up to chapter 26 and decided to read this and start to pick up clues from chapter 1 and as I got to this ch I was concluding that takt like riku but I couldn’t figure out the whole situation. And once I read that he felt something on his lips I was like oh yeah Takt like that boy and wanted to see if anyone else caught that. Sure enough everyone did but you explained your theory of the story so well I guarantee that how the story will go good job 👏🏿 👍🏿
