Knowing this fact now, I think you may have the closest realistic explanation for all this sudden rush to wrap up this story.

Bad Girl getting that sweet sweet anime money is a good reason to give that focus over this story which keeps getting shit on even in Japan.

It's a shame because I think Aitsu no Kanojo could have been really good. I think bringing in Umimi and Yako was a mistake. It dragged the story on too long. Yes, having Umimi's backstory with Takt showed glimpses of what was to come but I think if they had just focused on the trio of Riku, Shizuku and Takt we would have had a tighter story.

It felt like the author didn't really want to do an actual NTR story and wanted NTR-lite. It kind of felt like the author was just jumping on the NTR bandwagon and riding the popularity wave just like so many authors were doing Isekai when that became popular.

At least a good amount of comment are on the same page like us concerning Takt. He doesn't deserve a redemption. Even now, I continue to facepalm about his trip to better himself. It's the guy who come to your house uninvited, eat your favorite pudding, trash your wc and leave with a "see ya ".

Wrapping it up in volume 8 would skip too much and make it hard to understand, so finishing it between volumes 9 and 10 makes more sense. But if Aitsu no Kanojo moved to Yoru Sunday for irregular publication and went all-out with the erotic content that’s been half-done until now, and continued for at least another 2–3 years from here, that would be even better.

Man, someone who wanted to see some freaky time during the beach arc I think... there is a lot of trainwreck with erotica content and more fucked up relationship in the nature. Let this thing die.

All in all, even jp are fed up with this story.

Now onto the story's content, I feel that the author got the axe. Or rage quit himself perhaps.

We'll never know. I think the author has realized he was going nowhere and decided wisely it was time to end. I mean, he give Takt closure, will do the same for Riku and Shizuku in the last dedicated chapter. I don't see that as ragequit.

i agree, i wrote somewhere... i dont know anymore where, maybe the translators Discord, that Aitsu no Kanojo is Nikumarus first drama attempt. I like it when authors try new genres. But Nikumaru really isnt cut for drama. All his other Mangas, well without counting that one bad oneshot... are really wholesome. He should stuck with Comedy and ecchi, that fit him the best i guess.

First time Riku did a bad thing since the beginning of this story, he deceived Shizuku (with Takt’s help) in order to meet her. Another dozen of schemes like this one and he’ll be halfway through getting back at them for all the things they did to him

With a development this impactful, the readers’ frustrations would be blown away and they’d feel satisfied. If the many unresolved mysteries were explained here through dialogue between Shizuku and Riku, it would also save a huge amount of page space that would otherwise be used for explanations. In Chapter 64, when Takt was forcefully making a promise to Shizuku, presumably that he would be the one to take her “first time,” Shizuku made her last-ditch effort to resist by confessing to Takt, "I like Riku," barely preventing the promise between her and Takt. Because of this, it is very likely that Shizuku is still an inexperienced woman. And now the time has finally come for inexperienced Shizuku to be united with Riku. That seems to be the case. So even though Shizuku is on the edge, she could still be considered a pure heroine.

I assumed that the promise between Takt and Shizuku was that “Takt would take Shizuku’s first time.” In Chapter 64, Takt and Shizuku began continuing that promise, but it was clearly sexual in nature, and it’s hard to imagine there being any further promise beyond that. I have no idea why such a promise was made, though.
The real nature of the promise between Takt and Shizuku is a very intriguing mystery, so I hope the story eventually explains it, even if it’s just a bullet-point summary within the work.
