I only stayed reading this because of Alice. I swear to god, she's one the cutest and most amazing heroine's I have read in a manga. Too bad she gets totally blindsided by the pathetic mc. I really do not like the mc at all. In the beginning it was funny and cool to see the mc do something so radical to get close to his crush and try and develop a relationship. But in that time, she has literally had nothing to do with "him" and only recently have they even "progressed" (if you can even call it that) yet, in that time frame, an even better woman comes and rushes to the finish line and waits for the mc to catch up while cheering him on along the way. What does he do? Quits the race to go sit with a girl that has only taken advantage of the fact he likes her. Smh, one the best reasons why the troupe of "first girl to show up always wins" sucks.

That's basically because this whole Manga was more for showing off AKB and their members, than about the basic plot established at the start. In that connection, he can't switch his love interest, because you don't just switch your favorite member as a true fan. (well reality is different of course xD)

@ShaiHH - I get what you're saying, but at the same time, why introduce potential love interests and even give them a part in the story if they had no chance at all? I mean, from every point of view, Alice is a far better person and woman ( I can't even remember her name) then the MC's crush ( at least to me). And the fact the crush just takes advantage ( unknowingly of course) just makes it worse. Idk, to me it would have better to not introduce her as a love interest and give a story like that, and instead just left her as a rival.

Technically she isn't a love interest at all, because the MC doesn't really seem interested in her in that way. She was a needed ally for "Minori" to stay hidden.

Also this would be far from the first Manga, that has side-Love-interests, that never really had a chance. Actually that's a big Harem-Manga trope.
And several other girls, including real members had a crush on him too. ?

But as said before, Minoru/i is representing the fans of AKB and as such he has to be loyal and unwavering support of her, no matter his chances on actually getting her. (just like a real fan can't get the Idol either ?)
