So confused if there even is a plot to this manga, this volleyball chapter just kinda came out of the left field.
Super pretty and dynamic art as always; a sight for sore eyes.

It's all pretty exciting all around, jumping from dance to volley ball to show us who's supporting Akebi and why, all in all is the spirit of youth at full throttle! also the shorts... they can be really tight sometimes ... uffff

Thanks for another chapter!!

Didn't know Komi-san was in this. Guess she turned into a real badass after learning to talk and going back to middle school

Hate all you want about this manga. This manga art is top notch one of the best one I've ever read, and this is just a slice of life manga you Expect Akebi to be slaying demon king or someshit?
And for people saying that this is pedo shit, this ain't.

To @Isopotonic and anyone else that might not be a sharp enough tool in the shed to grasp what's happening in a light-heard slice of life manga about cute girls attending an all-girl school in Japanese countryside doing cute things set in a contemporary setting, here is a brief "PREVIOUSLY ON AKEBI'S SAILOR UNIFORM" to get you up to speed.

Most of the latter half of volume 3 had the girls preparing for the sports festival. But unlike your favorite shounen, the tournament arcs got skipped and we get dropped in the middle of an after-festival party of sorts, just in time for the main character's performance, which has the rest of the school-related cast reminisce on the events that happened during the sports festival.

I'm now convinced that this manga cannot get a decent adaptation that would make it justice.

This manga dropped almost all dialogues and is telling us the story with just the drawings. That means, pure Sakuga for entire chapters of an anime. And this isn't fate nor SAO.

There's a bit of text missing from the last action page, the one with the faces of the five other team-mates -- in the raws, down the left-hand side it reads "みんなが繋いだ'想い' -- すべてをこの一瞬に"

Roughly translated, "The single thought that connected them all -- everything depends on this moment"

All these sports sequences have been so beautiful and dynamic, with each moment flowing into the next. Pairing it with Akebi's dancing makes complete sense. I'm genuinely awed by it.

@Raknasuu the inking style alone would be wasted on an anime, but you also make a good point. On the other hand, not having to pay for VA might allow for a higher standard of animation, letting sequences like this chapter shine... But that's about as likely as a Yotsuba adaptation.

Hiro, the mangaka for Akebi-chan no Serafuku has been providing illustrations for a light-novel series, "Super Cub" which has been green-lighted for an anime. I'm looking forward to seeing it. There's a PV out, it looks somewhat like Non Non Biyori in terms of countryside scenery porn.

Well, well. The inking is definitely a big issue to consider as you say (This manga is pretty black ink heavy and there's almost no use of shade markers). And it even gets harder if the guideline for an anime could be all the color illustrations Hiro has drawn for this. The only way this could be made possible is by having Hiro as an actual key animator or directorish position for the project... Or making short chapters like Miru Thights (?)... (???????????) I didn't compare this to Yom's work ididn'tcomparethistoYom'swork... I'm a monster

On the other hand: This manga is a walking storyboard. Everything is shot in the way it should be. It would be like OPM season 1, in which a lot of scenes are a copy and paste from the manga. And we could ditch the background for some of them anyway, that's less work to do too.

But we all kinda know that this manga is more like an excuse for anathomical study and just flexing skill in general. Even if the story is cute AF.

@Nojay

Hey. That was an incredible PV. It looks like a movie trailer and an ad for Honda at the same time, which is weird... But also better than most PV's out there. Thanks for the recommendation, now I have something else to look forward to in this shitty year. The only thing I have to say is that... well... There's noticeable CGI here and there. Here I'm hoping it gets better on the actual finished product. Thanks Honda for the obvious sponsor

But you know what? If something like Interspecies Reviewers could get such an incredible anime adaptation... MAYBE this could happen. There's also the big budget film route too but let's be honest. You gotta have a big name like Makoto Shinkai and he isn't into this kind of stuff.

God, these chapters are amazing, love that this manga has semi-transformed into a sports manga from volume 3. I wouldn't have thought this kind of delicate, beautiful art style would work well for that, but hiro-sensei's skill at showing motion and emotion are evident.
