IIRC, J-Novel never axed it..there are just only 4 LN volumes in Japanese. The Her Majestys Swarm LN sold pretty poorly, it's likely axed since the last volume came out in 2021

It was ok. While there were a lot of threads that weren’t unravelled, the plot they did tell roughly made sense. Definitely more enjoyable than Swarm, mainly due to Yuzu’s charming character. I guess I’ll read the LN or WN, any recommendations which?

The WN is complete in Japanese and about 90% translated (although translations are currently stalled). LN Volume 4 comes out in about a week, which will bring it right up to where the manga started.

The WN chapters don't include the illustrations since they came out way before the LN did. The WN goes through several translators, some better than others. App (who I linked) is pretty good and does the first 8 volumes.

On a side note, if anyone has anything they would like picked up please let me know. I have a couple idea already, but more couldn't hurt. (It has to have furigana though..my kanji abilty is terrible)

Now I'm just going to hope that J-Novel picks up the LNs for an offical translation and that we get an anime adaption at some point

1: Read the WN or LN through novel updates, the manga was axed because someone decided adapting books 5+6 while scrambling the plot was a good idea. 5 and the first half of 6 could work in a vacuum but the second half of 6 the plot crashes violently into the events.

2: the next arc is trash. it might even be garbage. the only redeeming fact is a character who they wrote out of the manga, and this arc's deuteragonist get to be hilarious together. Books 1+2 are amazing, 3+4 are fine, 5+6 are much better in the novels, and 9 so far has been fine even if you skip book 7+8

Yeah 7/8 was my least favorite arc too, I personally still enjoyed it, but yeah..it's like they tried to parody and generic isekai so much that it actually felt generic lol. I did like the mini sci-fi arc that happened right before it though

the mini scifi arc is right after it, not right before.

honestly im being overly hard on books 7/8 here. theyre still a Harunohi series, and Harunohi is an excellent author. but for the standards of The Devil Princess or Heroine Survival, books 7/8 of Devil Princess suck because they dont matter to the plot except explain how (Spoilers for Manga readers, not for anyone who has read the books) Cat Husband gets his humanoid form.

the objective problem is that Devil Princess is a dramatic horror and it feels like Harunohi decided to write two comedy chapters. but like, ive read all of Harunohi's work. Flare in VRMMO, and Fleuretti the Demon Maid are enjoyable reads, but theres nothing fun about the detour home in Devil Princess.

youre not wrong, reading the Scifi book-ender for Book 8 is really good for this series.
