Unlike their mother who is happy for their growth the father didn't appreciate his kids doing commoner things.Meh, it's just shown how toxic is the nobility on this verse
That's my pov since in the beginning he's trying to portray that he's a kind and understanding father that doesn't treat anybody differently but during this chapter I realized that it's all a facade. Thanks for the upload @asphyxiav2. Now for the throne, REST. A chapter every 2-3 days is already fast by our standards.
Also, I don't think the father is showing any true colors or anything like that. In fact, I think he kinda has a point here.
They're high nobility and they must show it nearly at all times. Diana's behaviour now is not something you would expect from highest nobility, and while that makes her closer to commoners than any noble, when she inevitably would have to mingle with nobles like her those things are going to end in social disaster.
It would be better if she learns to put a "noble switch on/off" for those events, but even then a rival family learning about her behaviour with commoners would lead to a minor scandal and that's more serious than it sounds.
I think that the father, being a noble all his life understands this and is concerned of the social consequences to Diana if this continues.
Did I? Let me checkSeems like you missed a page after pg. 16?
Thanks for the chapter anyway

I believe the IS kind and understanding, but he's also a noble. Worse yet, he's a head of a high nobility house. On those statuses, appearances are VERY important as they know the nobility rumor mill can bring a lot of damage and he knows it, probably seen it before. The first defense is to behave at nearly all times in a way to not let any crack for be used by any scummy noble (and there's always a scummy noble). That's my pov since in the beginning he's trying to portray that he's a kind and understanding father that doesn't treat anybody differently but during this chapter I realized that it's all a facade.
