OP… 😢 I’m just a casual reader, so I might not have the right to say this, but I hope you can rise above your struggles and take proper care of yourself. ❤️

Edit: also yeah this chapter good, second half felt a but rushed but I hope it gets serialized too!

Hey OP, please take care of yourself. Sorry to hear you’ve been going through rough times with employment issues. I hope things get better for you and you’re able to lean on your friends to help cheer you up.

And thank you for the chapter. Might not be my favourite but it’s a solid enough chapter by itself.

OP, I don't know if they exist in your country but there should be some centers where they offer free group support and psychological help. The Psychologist in this structures sees many people at the same time so it's generally cheap but it can help. It might help you, if such a service exists in your country.

I was thinking about skipping this chapter for the godawful title it had. Luckily, I checked the section and saw that people actually liked it, which led me to give it a second chance and be positively surprised.
Seriously though, terrible title

f*ck the corporations that continue to give less pay for fewer jobs just so they can line the pockets of shareholders who do nothing. You don’t need therapy my friend you need revolution, as do we all. Okay well a little therapy never hurts also but you get my point.

OP, it sucks but you can make it through. Job wise you're probably running into ghost jobs; big companies are required to post a job listing even though the company is already going to fill it internally. It fucks with everyone because there's "job openings" but no one is getting hired.

There's also the chance that the HR is using AI to filter the applications and you're getting screwed that way. I heard one story that one company was getting unqualified applicants despite the senior people literally submitting a preferred applicant, and found out the entire HR department was basically just chatGPTing the screening process.

So there could be several factors out of your control, and what's out of your control you should let go, and focus on what you can control.

Is there any chance of picking a trade school? What about freelancing as a translator or getting picked up by a gacha company?
Are the jobs you're applying for really what you absolutely want to do? Are there something tangentially related to them or the degree you have, if you have one?

A little over a year ago, I hit the end of my rope. Didn’t see any future for myself, didn’t really have any support around me, nothing. I was given some advice, and it really helped. Specifically, I was informed about how many 100% free therapy services there are in almost every city.

Basically, they tend to be somewhat time-limited (mine was for 8-months, with an understanding it COULD be extended if needed). But it was zero cost in any way shape or form. They worked with my schedule, were very simple to get started with, and VERY helpful. After about 6 months I was doing drastically better, and at the end of my 8 months, I did not need to continue to go. It was one of the best actions I’ve taken in my life.

So that’s my advice. Use Google and call some of the local therapy and support offices in your town. 100% chance SOMEONE offers the service for free. Some churches even offer it from paid therapists but the church covers the cost for you - so look for that if you can’t find an office.
