"I didn't want to stand out myself."
Bit late. And as usual, that also requires the common sense these MCs lack.

She found a pit trap. Good job! Kind of weird how her skirt flipped so high, though.

lol don't worry we don't hold off chapters for any reason, we release as soon as they're complete. Sometimes it takes a while if there's tricker SFX to do and work+uni is packing up. In the end it's just a hobby we don't make money from scanlation we just do it cause we enjoy it, no reason to hold off chapters.
ah alright, the 6 months' pause to immediate release made it seem like that, but what do I know.

Thinking about all this and it makes me question the initial settings. Dark dungeons like these exist but people are apprehensive at the least or full on racist at the worst. So if a dungeon like that is in the territory of Yumelia's family, wouldn't they rejoice that their territory would be secure because a dark mage was born on the family line? Far as the residents know, the dungeon is highly difficult because of those shadow assassin mobs as other elements and also light have difficulty detecting them. Yumelia's element attuned her so much, she could survive here back when she was like, ten? It's weird that her parents treated her that way in the beginning.

And this light novel path is different from the more...unforgiving path of the web novel,as noted here :
And according to the afterword in volume 4 of the light novel: the web novel, light novel, manga, and anime all did different things with how Alicia is treated in the story. At the time the author liked the way the manga did it the best (she wasn't happy with how she wrote Alicia in the web novel) but the anime wasn't out yet at the time.

The plot thickens.

Her parents are racist assholes. They have bought into the cultural stigma of the society that black haired people are dangerous. They also only care about advancing their rank and position and have no foresight in using the dungeon like you describe. They only see Yumiella as a pawn to marry off and make that man the next duke,
, are allies with the Anti-King faction, and later cross a line that forces Yumiella to confront them. Yumiella learns that they have been spending much of the tax revenue on their own lavish lifestyle and not helping even the non-Black haired people in their domain. So Yumiella usurps them and becomes the next ruler of the domain, with the King's blessing.

It's the manga that goes on break for months. 21.2 just came out last month if I am not mistaken.
I think some other people in one of these comment threads talked about plenty of raw chapters being available

thanks, the other translation was quite bad to read, although I wish you wouldn't hold off chapters like this

If there were chapters available to hold off. :qq:
They were only recently released. @Throwawail please don't trust everything that you see written BLINDLY.
You will never find a cute gamer GF to help you grind through the toughest dungeons...
Fox, is that your alt. account?
From my understanding each new medium gives Alicia a less terrible trajectory. Manga (?)>Anime (forgiven) > LN (imprisoned) > WN (dies)/SPOILER]

Anime by far is the worst. Instead of her own decision, dye to trauma and envy, she "forced" to kill her by the world or some kind of system turning her essentially into a puppet.

For clarification. Chapter 21.1 came out in 8th August (2 months ago), while chapter 21.2 came out in 12th of September (1 month ago). Depending on the difficulty, your efficiency, and how meticulous you want to be, scanlating a chapter can take anywhere from 1 to 50 hours (and I'm talking about full work hours, not work for 10 mins and then browse Twitter / chat on Discord). Alas, it's a lot of time, which is why we have only a select few series that we love the most that we scanlate.

With a full-time job and other commitments, we have a limited time window where we can work on scanlation, so a chapter could even take up to months to be ready with an active team working on it. FYI: it's an unwritten rule amongst scanlators that a series is considered "dropped" if there is a new chapter after the group's latest release and the group hasn't updated for 3 months. Releasing the next chapter within that time is considered "sniping." Obviously, it is up to you to decide on whether sniping is good or bad. To give you food for thought, on one hand, the readers benefit from having chapters earlier, but on the other, the sniping group is dismissing the other group's efforts and commitment (after all, if the other group was working on the same chapter, it would all be "meaningless" work as the readers would have already read it).

However, it's totally understandable that a reader is not aware of this, and, given the lack of context, might assume that the team has given up when they see "6 months ago" on MangaDex. I personally don't expect anyone to be proficient in "the ways of the scanlator," so I really appreciate it when some go through the trouble of checking the dates themselves to defend said group, even when it is unwarranted.

Thanks for the detailed reply. 2 months of voluntary work is entirely appropriate for such high-quality scans.
I'm involved a little with FOSS development, if that's a term you're familiar with, so I know how it is to work on passion projects in your spare time. Sorry for being quick to judge earlier.
This post >https://forums.mangadex.org/threads...-de-wa-arimasen-ch-21-1.1932813/post-23260797 made it seem like there had been plenty of updates in-between releases. The sarcasm didn't register with me, cos the attached image, if anything, seemed to support the literal meaning of the post. A few chapters in the beginning, with regular chapters in the past few months, but only the last 2 visible. I just didn't look at the 21, so uuuuh, my bad.
Thank you very much again for your work, and I'm looking forward to future releases.

I liked how the anime adaptation was able to handle this dungeon (and progress quickly to an ending).
Since things seem to be a bit different here, so I'm anxious to see how it unfolds!

This seems like such a bad dungeon for groups that don't follow a leader 😭
