By the time we come back to the main characters they’ll already have a litter of kids
Karina: Two months in my belly making me suffer and all seven of you come out looking like your father!
Originally, Aurora was supposed to be the prince's fiancée, but either she or her parents declined the offer and sent Karina instead. However, now Aurora supposedly has the backing of the royal family. Why bother sending Karina as a pawn when Aurora took the crown regardless?
iirc Aurora was sick/sickly at the time, that’s why Karina was chosen to take her place. Then she got better and they switched it up.

I’m digging the perspectiv change and hunt for the truth. Even more evidence that the Royal Family is up to no good.

Not fully, they just removed records of her and the Royal Family declared eveen her NAME was to NEVER be mentioned. The Nobles are FREE to speak about her in GENERAL, but letting her name slip out their tongue will have consequences!

It's likely Karina did many of the things UNDER the Royal Family guidance/orders, not fully innocent herself. But it was enough to show them as the guilty party. To cover it up, they need her to be a scapegoat, removing her name and birth is in line with Aurora "marriage" into the family instead. What a NICE convenient tale where she's a Villainess "vanquished" and "forgotten" because "deserved" and strange Aurora didn't bring up a stink (just adds MORE points to her being bad, but I'm more for "they convinced her that it's for the best and she didn't question it, or is too full with herself with everyone on eggshells not to bring her up EVER around Aurora so she REALLY doesn't know what's going on around her. She might "bring her up" from time to time, but guessing she's an airhead she might just FORGET her name at some point! But it's her WEDDING and HAPPY LIFE, why ruin it for others? Her sister angered them all, so it's not like she wants to anger everyone who is "so nice" by making them think of her sister. She'll just "keep it to herself" Honestly I feel it's a Mix of her just being a Airhead Golden Child, a part of her DOES understand "the differences" she never fought hard ENOUGH, but thought if she was "kind to her sister" she'd make up for the hate and indifference she was getting. But in the end, if she had to CHOOSE between her and her golden experience, she'd pick the latter without hesitation, her sister's "Evil" is just an excuse to HERSELF, a easy lie to convince herself Karina "got her serves her right" and she shouldn't feel guilty cause "SHE TRIED" so like her parents, specifically her mother, she's refusing to ACKNOWLEDGE her part in Karina's "fall" though unlike her mother, she seemed CONTENT with just not thinking about Karina for "her own sake!" But then it's funny the Writer is doing everything possible to not show Aurora alot, leaving it a MYSTERY of her TRUE personality!

Reminds me of that OTHER Manga, the one with the Miasma and the FMC choosing to be the sacrifice in place of her adoptive younger sister, especially when the guy she liked BEGGED her to take her sister's place (choosing her sister over her) and she did so, but for some reason, the Royal Family pushed that she was a Criminal for it, erased her name, pushed everyone to forget her INCLUDING her parents, guy she liked who married her sister for "her sister's sake" as the trauma of losing her sister in her place PUSHED for the forgetting for "her sake" and still unknown his feelings. And everyone moved on with their lives. Parents at LEAST made a grave for her and mourned till their dying days (even though it had to be an UNMARKED one in a Commoner Grave as to not UPSET the royal family) and the story begins with the two Son, her Nephew making a journey to retrieve the Sword she "stole" (this is the "justification" of the lie she's a criminal by the way) having been told to expect some shadow Miasma monster to "Take her image to be able to use the sword" hence when he GOT there and ran into her (the Miasma HALTED her aging, so she was UNAWARE time stood still) he attacked without hesitation! Then got his BUTT beat in! In the Novel at least because the Manga is so DELAYED she finally left with him, met up with her ONLY FRIEND the one who helped her nephew get in and was the one to tell him his "guess" because no one EVER survived the Miasma Lands, hence the SACRIFICE! However since she went in, the Miasma never came back, ENDING the whole "sacrifice" business. However he was BLACKMAILED into silence about her which she doesn't blame him for, but the mystery of WHY she was made into a Evil Villain (they made it look like she STOLE the sword and tried to "get power" in the Miasma lands cause she was studing them, completely invalidating her TRUE obvious reason for doing so to save her sister for some reason. Her "BIL" had tried to fight the falsehoods, but in time his powerlessness, wanting to protect his wife, ETC may have made him eventually become complacent for "The good of his wife".....and the guilt for "asking her to sacrifice herself" since even HE realized that was wrong! Nephew found out about her before when he was younger and asked about her only to be told to KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT as he'd upset his mother, so all he knows is the general history "She's a Criminal" they're hiding her because of that label and not knowing WHAT will happen as no one expected, least of all those who criminalized her to come back NOT ONLY ALIVE, but not a DAY older then when she left. It's obvious she'd be Experimented on to find out how and the excuse of "she's a criminal so it's not wrong" being used to justify it Despite as said STILL a MYSTERY why she was made a criminal in the first place. She did the Sacrifice for her sister, so why make her out to be a Villain?!

re-reading a bit, it does seem like Karina was doing a lot of the things she got accused of but both not as wasteful as she's made out to be and also defintiely still in such a way that makes it really easy to see her like that. in chapter one she herself thinks back on it and it does look like while she herself found the expenses and way she acted justified it's very easy to see how someone else would not think so.

On top of that in re-reading to get a better view of her parents it's starting to look like her parents and possibly even her younger sister weren't actually malicious towards her. At least not actively so. Her parents seemed very normal and even caring towards her as they told Karina that she'd become the crown prince's fiancée in her sister's stead like they were sorry to have to do this to her.

Though of course Aurora is still more of a black box so we'll have to see where things go, but overall while Karina was definitely just thrown away by the crown prince once her sister got healthy again I'd wager her own family really did not want for this to happen.

All this to say, I'm excited to see Karina's revenge because while it's mostly justified (especially towards the royal family who are erasing all records related to her to ensure no one will ever know how badly they fucked up) there's a good chance she'll be throwing strays around to people she only believes deserve it too.

Pretty sure her ex fiancee and sister tried to assassinate her after they kicked her out.

See that's the thing that's causing me to label her as more of a black box. Because yeah she told the crown prince who sent the first wave of assassins that she'll take matters into her own hands. And genuinely that could either mean that she's going to have Karina killed herself or that she's effectively disarming the assassins under the guise of taking responsibility.

So I really don't know what Aurora is doing. The fact that she visited the castle while Karina was gone and left the old plushie Karina once had to part with can be read the way Karina does, but also again we don't know Aurora's intentions maybe she does mean well and the plushie alongside giving it back holds very different meaning to her than it does Karina. She also left tons of extra servants and additional furniture, by all accounts this can be because Aurora means to demean Karina or because she wants to help the only way she realistically can. By making Karina's life in exile as comfortable as she can.

I just really don't know what to think of Aurora right now specifically because she starts getting involved in the machinations herself, once the crown prince's first wave of assassins failed.

Reading back, I'm thinking our MC might be an unreliable narrator, and her younger sister not such a villain. I'm betting she did all the things she's been accused of.

I can definitely see that, and it makes some things make more sense. But the scene where the prince is talking about how to murder FL has nothing to do with FL as a narrator, which means either the sister is in on trying to kill FL or she was actually trying to protect her sister and isn't cool with her new husband being a vicious murderer. It would be really interesting if it turns out the sister is on FL's side, which FL obviously doesn't know and wouldn't believe.

At the very least she talked the prince out of sending more assassins, and went to visit her sister herself. I wonder what would have occurred if they'd actually met up privately.
