Good he did explain that the desserts were japanese adaptation food. to treat japanese food as number 1 best food in the world in many mangas kinda bugs me. here it is just food that is awesome. good thing they didn't talk about mayo.

and it is a nice way to get recovered all your HP and MP back.. not drinking from bitter portions but from comfort food. i love the idea.

The mayo dispenser is reserved for the post-game dungeon.

About the joke, 所望 is shomou, not shoumou, and is a -suru verb, so it doesn't work too well.
It's probably connected to 消耗品 - consumable("exhaustable") goods - which the potion definitely is.
If you imagine the tone going up like in a question, it almost reads like "how about it (dou?), don't we have any consumables(to help us heal)?"
