Maybe a disappointing ending, but it's an ending that fits. Shuu got what he wanted. He got to play his fantasy battle and now he's cut himself off from the rest of the world.

Can't relate to people who wanted the series to be longer. The story didn't overstay its welcome (rare in the industry), the characters pretty much all reached satisfying conclusions to their arcs, and there was no bullshit redemption arc for all the scumbags. Broken people broke everything, and everything remained broken. This series is a masterpiece.

Garbage ending. For people saying "it's not so bad" then why do even read this shit in this first place? It hasn't evolve much from chapter 1 till the end, where's the progression? Shuu and Alice is still doing the same shit since chapter 1, exciting. "But but but the other's have grown up", who cares about them this manga is not "Other people from Hell". Manga title is "Alice from Hell" and yet at the final chapter we only see Alice in.... two pages? *thumbs up* Great job, lol.

I guess Author ran outta steam and publisher gave up and killed it, good job. Too bad they can't do the same with One Piece, Bleach, Naruto and other garbage manga that just drags on and on like a sick puppy that just won't die but can't live either.

Rating: Garbage/10

No character development can also be evidence of character development, it stayed dark, nihilistic but some shreds of hope but still stubborn and absurd. The case of 'the end is the beginning repeating' sort of shtick, because in the end did you actually expect Shuu to reintegrate into society or have a truly happy end? I don't mind this ending but would of rather liked it to be ambiguous of Shuu's fate or show him end in a blaze of glory but satisfied with his demise because of his god complex.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but this wasn't entirely it lmao.

I'm ambivalent, if not just disappointed, towards the ending, but I thought the manga was interesting enough that I don't feel too hard done by. I hope to find other stories like it.

@XL Have you never read a cyclical story before? The worth's in the journey, even if they ending's the same as the start.

summary pf tje emding: This world is broken, so are humans. Shuu is one of them. He's a talented sniper who keeps a broken android, named Alice. Together they live like hermits and make living by exterminating caravan robbers.

Shuu was a broken kid living on his own the desert. People try to help him by inviting him into their communities but the rest of humanity is too broken itself to fix him and shuu was probably too broken to fix anyway. That's the story

Matsumoto Jiro always make dirty and crazy stories, and if you complaint about endin so you need go read some different artist like Kishimoto Masashi, or just kill yourself.

Whew what a ride that was! I must say this is the most fitting ending for this kind of story, at first I was hoping for some resolution to Shuu's character but clearly this story isn't just about him, it's about him and the messed up world he lives in. He remains quite the same but hey, he's a real living legend now. Dunno if it's a good thing.

I'd be on a lookout for this author's new work! Thanks so much scanlator team!!!

I wrote this someplace else, but I'll post it here too. To all those who thought the story was shite.

"TL of the second half here.
Being a big Jiro Matsumoto fan, I didn't really feel like the story's pacing was off at any given moment. It maybe didn't feel as mature as Freesia, but I suppose that was because he came up with the story a long time ago and kept things somewhat light(?), aside from all the corpse raping and slaughter of course.

It's that car chase at the end of volume 4 with almost everybody dying that felt like the climax of the story for me. From there on it slowed down nicely with a last bang when Kenji's army invaded Alamo.

That said, I don't think most people get Alice's roll in the story though. She's not human and was never meant to have any kind of personality. It's a cursed doll that absolutely ruined any chance of Shuu ever redeeming himself by simply being there for him. There was never any need for her to show her true "mission" sort of speak until Shuu became doubtful of his own actions.

In the end, though, I honestly believe this story isn't meant to be taken too seriously. Jiro Matsumoto likes screwing around, defying the reader's expectations, but still ending everything in a balanced way. You could argue that Shuu represents evil/chaos and Eliza represents good/hope, exactly like they real world."
